About & editorial standards
We review source links and location evidence, then explain what each camera actually shows. The standards below describe how we label video, updated images and approximate locations.
Operated by: Japan Live Now Team
Check a view before you travel
No account or location permission is required. Browse mountain, street and park views, then use the operator’s page to check an image timestamp or whether a video is live.
Our team checks sources and prepares Korean and English descriptions, viewing guidance, location disclosures and comparisons. We are independent of the municipalities, tourism bodies and broadcasters we link to; we do not operate their cameras or manage the locations.
How we prepare the content
Our team checks camera names, operators, original URLs, fields of view and location evidence against official sources. Code and AI tools help organize large datasets, prepare drafts and find omissions or duplication. We do not treat generated wording as evidence: each camera’s visible area and the limits of what a viewer can conclude are reviewed before they appear in the Korean and English guides.
We do not claim first-hand visits we did not make or invent weather, crowd and transport conditions that the camera cannot establish. If a description does not match its source, contact us so we can check the evidence and correct it.
How we choose cameras
- We prioritize cameras published by government bodies, municipalities, public institutions, tourism associations, national parks, official tourism facilities and broadcasters operating their own feeds.
- We review the operator’s information, original viewing link, viewing area and usefulness to travellers. Public river or road cameras are included only when they clearly help visitors view a destination.
- Personal channels, unidentified sources and unauthorized retransmissions are excluded. We do not invent cameras to fill gaps in coverage.
Watch at the original source
We link directly to a verified official YouTube video when available, otherwise to the operator’s camera page. We do not embed video players, record, copy or retransmit video. A camera may still be listed when no usable thumbnail is available.
Location, season and freshness limits
When the installation is not confirmed, an “Approximate location” pin uses a mapped reference near the viewing area. The subject and the camera mount may differ. Blossom, snow and autumn categories describe a destination, not today’s conditions.
We check whether source pages and images can be reached when we update and publish the site. The “Connection last checked” time records that access check; it does not mean a video is live now. We may hide sources with repeatedly confirmed failures, while temporary access restrictions remain under review. Check image times and service notices at the original source.
Corrections and rights concerns
Tell us about an inaccurate description or location, an ended video or an image-rights concern. We review the evidence and may correct, replace or remove the listing. We do not invent first-hand travel experiences or sponsorship relationships.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some ticket and transport-pass buttons in our destination guides, restaurant-booking buttons and travel-coupon buttons are affiliate links. We may earn a commission on qualifying bookings or purchases and label these buttons accordingly. See our terms and affiliate notice for details.
