Nagasaki Airport to Nagasaki Station, Shinchi and Dejima
For Nagasaki Station hotels, take the Dejima Road bus from stop 5 to the station’s transport plaza. The same route serves Shinchi Chinatown and Chuo-bashi for Hamanomachi hotels. Choose the nearest stop to avoid returning from the station.

How should I choose between Nagasaki Airport limousine bus and train?
If you only travel to the city once, a direct airport bus will save you the burden of transfers. You can also compare rail connections if you have already redeemed your JR Pass or are continuing on to another rail itinerary at Shin-Omura Station. There is no rail station at the airport.

Official timetable and usage guide ↗The times in the table are based on after boarding the vehicle. You need to go through immigration → baggage pickup → purchase tickets → stand in line → transfer → walk to your accommodation. You should not think of it as ‘27 minutes from the airport to the city center’ by adding the 13 and 14 minutes via rail.
Buses may be delayed depending on congestion and transit routes.

When you leave the arrival hall, look for the number outside the first floor.
- After completing immigration and baggage pickup, exit to the arrivals hall on the 1st floor. It's a good idea to keep your accommodation address and the name of the stop you'll get off on on your phone for guidance.
- Outside the first floor, check the bay and destination together. Bay 5 serves 新地中華街・長崎駅前 / 出島道路経由: Shinchi Chinatown and Nagasaki Station via Dejima Road. Bay 4 serves 長崎駅前 / 昭和町・浦上経由: Nagasaki Station via Showa-machi and Urakami.
- For Shin-Omura Station, use bay 2 for Huis Ten Bosch or Sasebo. Check the timetable and ask the driver whether that service stops at 新大村駅前. Bay 3, for Omura and Isahaya, is a different route.
- Tell the driver your stop when loading your luggage. When you get off, collect your bags before walking or transferring to your hotel or attraction.
Bay 1 is marked for passengers getting off buses serving international flights. It is not a city-bound boarding bay. Ordinary taxis use bay 6.

On prefectural buses, you board in line order without seat reservations, and pay when you get off. You can use nationwide interchangeable transport IC cards such as nimoca, Suica, PASMO, and ICOCA. They accept cash, but they inform you that 10,000, 5,000, and 2,000 yen bills and new 500 yen coins cannot be exchanged in the car, so prepare change or a charged card.
Nagasaki Bus Airport Liner also provides information on purchasing tickets first at the airport automatic ticket machine. For payment procedures for shared vehicles, please follow the instructions for the bus you will board. Even if you use a mobile transport IC card, it is helpful to have cash in case your battery runs out.
Prefectural buses inform you that luggage exceeding 30kg or 2m in length cannot be placed inside or in the trunk. Keep valuables and fragile items directly in the car, and if you need help loading or unloading the trunk, tell the driver first. Advance inquiry is required as the vehicle does not have wheelchair entry and exit equipment.

Hotels near Nagasaki Station · 長崎駅
Arrival hall → No. ⑤ on the 1st floor → Transportation plaza in front of Nagasaki Station → JR Station entrance and accommodation in this order. Even if the name says ‘Nagasaki Station Front · 長崎駅前’, the bus does not get off right in front of the JR ticket gate.
Get off at number ⑤ at Transportation Square · 交通広場, and get off at number ④ at Bus Terminal · バスターミナル. Each location was compared with the airport departure direction stop map provided by the prefectural bus.
Transport Square lies east of JR Nagasaki Station; the bus terminal is farther east beside the main road. From your drop-off point, follow Kamome Exit (East Exit) · かもめ口(東口) signs to the station building.
The plaza and turnstile are not in the same location. According to Nagasaki City's August/September 2026 guidance, construction on the East Station Plaza continues, so please check the on-site pedestrian signs and JR station map.
Hotels across the main road and hotels west of the station require different walks. In the walking map below, replace the destination with your hotel’s address and check the crossings. Allow time for traffic lights and luggage; there is no single verified walking time for every drop-off point.
Please allow extra time depending on the signal, luggage, and location of your accommodation.

When returning home, you should not assume that your pick-up point for the airport is the same as your drop-off point for the city. You can take the prefectural bus bound for the airport from inside the bus terminal in front of Nagasaki Station.
Shinchi Chinatown · 新地中華街
From arrivals, take the bay 5 bus and get off at Shinchi Chinatown. Walk from there to the north gate or your hotel. The bus ride takes about 35 minutes and costs 1,400 yen; you do not need to travel to Nagasaki Station first.
The bus stop marked 新地中華街 serves Shinchi Chinatown. Use the official stop map and your hotel’s address to plan the final walk. For a hotel nearer Hamanomachi, compare the next stop, Chuo-bashi.

Take the bay 5 bus to Chuo-bashi · 中央橋, then walk to the arcade or your hotel. The bus ride from the airport takes about 38 minutes and costs 1,400 yen.
Hamano-machi is not a single point, but rather a shopping district and surrounding lodging areas, so for lodgings on the Shianbashi side, you need to include the address and compare the last section.
Chuo-bashi has different locations for the ‘Koyaya Mae’ stop for the airport and the drop-off stop for the airport. The link below is the bus stop from the airport to the city. If you find it difficult to walk with your luggage or your accommodation is far away, you can get off and take a taxi.
Chuo-bashi bus stop for downtown ↗Dejima · 出島: After getting off the bus, go to the entrance
Arrival hall → 1st floor ⑤ → Shinchi Chinatown or Chuo-bashi → Walk to Dejima Omotemon Bridge. The route name ‘via Dejima Road’ does not mean that the airport bus stops directly at the entrance to the Dejima tourist facility.
Use Dejima Omotemon Bridge · 出島表門橋 as your walking destination. This entrance opens 08:00–21:00, with last entry at 20:40. The West Water Gate opens 08:00–18:00.
In the evening, check the entrance to avoid heading towards the closed West Gate. Dejima's walking guide around Shinchi and Hamanomachi is about 5 to 10 minutes, but it is not the same fixed time from the airport bus drop-off point.
If you are going to Dejima after leaving your luggage near the station, use the Line 1 tram information below. At night, when the last airport bus arrives, viewing hours are already over, so it is best to go to your accommodation first.

Trams from Nagasaki Station to Shinchi, Hamanomachi and Dejima
Leave JR Nagasaki Station and walk to the Nagasaki Station tram stop · 長崎駅前. Take line 1 towards Sofukuji · 崇福寺 for the stops below without changing. Check the display so you do not board in the opposite direction towards Akasako.
- Dejima: Get off at ‘出島’ → Walk to the open entrance. Official information about the facility is about a 1-minute walk from the Dejima tram stop, and check the section leading to Omotemon Bridge with the entrance map.
- Shinchi Chinatown: get off at 新地中華街, then walk to Chinatown. The tourism guide gives about one minute from the tram stop.
- Hamanomachi Arcade: get off at Kanko-dori · 観光通 and walk to the arcade or hotel. On line 1, do not wait for a stop called Hamanomachi Arcade; that name belongs to another route.
The one-time fare for adults is 150 yen, and you can use cash, transport IC cards, and supported credit cards for touch payment. The three destinations above can be accessed with a single ride on Line 1, so there is no need to transfer.
When transferring to another route, there are official conditions such as designated transfer stops, supported payment methods, and within 30 minutes, so you should not think that all transfers are free.
Check the tram timetable for the actual stop and direction. If a connection is available, compare the final walk or city taxi to your hotel. A taxi can reduce a long walk with heavy luggage.

Railroad via Shin-Omura Station: Bus and Shinkansen tickets are separate
Shin-Omura Station · 新大村駅 and Omura Station · 大村駅 are different stations. The Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen stops at Shin-Omura Station, but Omura Station is a conventional line station. The rail transit information below uses Shin-Omura Station.
- Arrival hall → Take the bus bound for Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo from number ② on the 1st floor and get off in front of Shin-Omura Station. The current airport departure time is approximately 13 minutes and 310 yen.
- After collecting your luggage, enter Shin-Omura Station and find the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen · 西九州新幹線 platform for Kamome · かもめ towards Nagasaki. You need the appropriate basic-fare and limited-express tickets or a valid reservation. An ordinary transport IC card alone does not let you board the Shinkansen.
- Get off at Nagasaki Station → Exit → Accommodation. If you are staying in Shinchi or Dejima, you will need to take an additional train, taxi, or walk outside the station.
An example of the Kamome 1 from the JR official timetable on October 4, 2026 is Shin-Omura 07:19 → Nagasaki 07:33, about 14 minutes by train. This is an example of a train section and does not mean a combination that connects with an airport bus on the same day.
Examples of daytime times that match the actual timetable are Airport Bus 11:50 → Shin-Omura Station 12:03, Kamome No. 21 Shin-Omura 12:14 → Nagasaki 12:29. Since the two transportation services are operated separately, transfers at 11-minute intervals are not guaranteed.
If the bus is late or you need time to issue tickets or move luggage, choose the next train.
Non-reserved seat adult one-way fare is JR 1,740 yen (870 yen fare + 870 yen non-reserved express fare). If you add 310 yen for the airport bus, it will be 2,050 yen, and if you add 150 yen to the city tram, it will be 2,200 yen.
The general reserved seat limited express fare is 1,790 yen in the regular season, the total for JR sections is 2,660 yen, and if you include the bus, it is 2,970 yen. Reserved seats vary depending on the usage date conditions, such as peak season, so check the final total amount on JR Reservation Inquiry. It does not say that the 2,050 yen price includes reserved seating.
You can also travel to Omura Station by bus or taxi, but it is a separate route using a conventional line. To avoid going to Omura Station without a Shin-Omura Station ticket, show the station name before boarding.

Nagasaki Bus informs in its official FAQ that the last Airport Liner departing from the airport will wait for the arriving aircraft. However, there is no detailed information on which flight or how long the wait will be.
This should not be broadened to mean that prefectural bus number ④, all buses, and Shinkansen must wait. After claiming your baggage, ask the bus stop staff about the last run of the day.

If the bus is over or you miss the streetcar
- After airport buses finish, use first-floor official taxi stand 6 or contact a listed operator. A vehicle is not guaranteed to be waiting late at night.
- If you reach the city after the trams have stopped, get off at the bus stop nearest your hotel. Check the actual walk to its address, or use an available city taxi for the final leg if you have heavy luggage or prefer not to walk.
- When it is difficult to move around the city: First check rooms, late check-in, and transportation from the airport at hotels in the Omura area near the airport before making a reservation. The airport building is marked as opening at 06:15 and closing at 22:00, so it is not intended as an overnight waiting area.
If you miss your reserved transportation
Airport limousine buses without reservations and JR tickets with designated dates and seats are processed differently. For JR regular reserved seat tickets, you must apply for a change before the train departs. Before use and within the validity period, regular tickets can be changed to the same type once without a fee, but the difference will be settled and discount products are subject to separate conditions.
Reserved seat tickets are not refundable after the departure of the designated train. There is a provision that allows you to use a regular car non-reserved seat on the same day as the train you missed with a regular reserved seat limited express ticket, but it does not automatically secure a reserved seat on the next train.
If you use a different reserved seat, you will have to pay a new reserved seat express fee. When canceling, a fee of 340 yen is applied for regular reserved seat tickets up to 2 days before departure, and a fee of 30% (minimum 340 yen) is applied from the day before to before departure. Ticket refunds are separate.
Show the reservation screen and ticket at the JR counter, and for online discount tickets or affiliate purchases, contact the sales office on the order screen.
If you have a reserved vehicle, please inform the reservation company of your flight number, reservation number, and new estimated arrival time as soon as you become aware of the delay. Free waiting limits, extension fees, and no-show/cancellation policies vary by contract. Please save the cancellation time and contact method set by the reservation company in the order form.

Arrival hall → No. ⑥ on the 1st floor → Go to the front of the accommodation. The airport provides a reference time of approximately 40 minutes by car using the highway to Nagasaki Station. It depends on traffic conditions and exact accommodation location.
In the fares revised by the Kyushu Transport Bureau on August 3, 2026, the upper limit for regular vehicles is 770 yen for the first 1 km and 100 yen for every 263 m thereafter. Time and distance calculations are also applied, and vary depending on the actual fare reported by the company and the vehicle model.
Heiwa Taxi's current fare list is 100 yen for every 1 minute and 35 seconds for low-speed operation and waiting, and a 20% surcharge from 22:00 to 05:00. For other dispatch companies, please check again with their rates.
Expressway and toll fees are separate. Meter rates and tolls are combined, so you must select your destination and receive a quote from the company. When traveling alone late, use the official bus stop and information desk, and save your accommodation address and walking map in advance. Huis Ten Bosch and Sasebo are different from those bound for Nagasaki city.
If you go directly to Huis Ten Bosch · ハウステンボス or Sasebo · 佐世保, compare number ② on the 1st floor first. There is a separate bus route that passes through Shin-Omura Station, so there is no need to go to Nagasaki Station and then back.
Based on the airport departure timetable from October 1 to 24, 2026, it takes approximately 59 minutes to Huis Ten Bosch and approximately 89 minutes to Sasebo Bus Center, and each one-way fare is 1,500 yen for adults. Check the latest operator announcements, travel timetables, and routes from drop-off to your hotel. The bus arrival time is different from the theme park entry time.
Jumbo taxi number ⑦ for the Minatoguchi direction of Sasebo Station requires advance reservation at least 30 minutes before departure according to the official airport information. Since this is a Sasebo ride, please separate it from the vehicle going to your accommodation in Nagasaki city.

Official tickets and reservations
Airport bus tickets and JR rail passes are separate products. Choose the bus destination and boarding bay shown in this guide. A JR pass does not automatically include the airport bus; check its eligible trains, passport and entry-status conditions and exchange procedure.
These are official operator links, not affiliate links. Fares in this guide and online offers may have different conditions. Confirm direction, date, exchange, reservation and refund rules before paying.
A rail pass for several northern Kyushu cities
The Northern Kyushu Rail Pass is available for three or five consecutive days and covers the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen, including Shin-Omura–Nagasaki. Compare it with ordinary fares for a multi-city trip. Airport buses and Nagasaki trams are excluded.
You need a non-Japanese passport, residence outside Japan and Temporary Visitor entry status. Carry your original passport with its entry stamp or seal. If using automated immigration gates, ask airport staff for the required proof.
Exchange an unused voucher at a listed counter before boarding. Nagasaki Station is listed; the airport and Shin-Omura are not listed exchange points. An unexchanged voucher cannot be used directly at Shin-Omura. Check your voucher’s exchange deadline and the counter’s opening hours.
The pass includes up to six free reserved-seat bookings in Japan. Some advance online bookings have an additional charge; arrange Kamome seats according to JR’s current instructions. Seats can fill up. Refund and change conditions depend on the issuing channel and whether the pass has been used; a flight delay does not guarantee an extension.
For Shinkansen luggage over 160 cm in combined dimensions, check the reserved baggage-space rules. Travelling without the required reservation can incur a 1,000 yen handling charge.

Nagasaki Prefectural Bus announced some city-stop suspensions and diversions for Nagasaki Kunchi on 7 October 2026, 12:20–15:00, and 9 October, 12:20–14:00. Its airport-limousine notice concerns the city-to-airport route via Chuo-bashi (in front of Koyaya).
This should not be read as a closure of all stops from the airport to the city. Times may vary depending on the event, so check the latest announcements, including your return flight.
Prefectural bus Nagasaki Kunchi detour notice ↗Traveling from Nagasaki Airport to the city, frequently asked questions
If I’m staying at Nagasaki Station, which bus should I get off at and where?
Take the Dejima Road bus from stop 5 to the traffic plaza at Nagasaki Station: about 43 minutes and 1,400 yen. Walk towards the station’s Kamome/East Gate and your hotel. The stop-4 service via Showa-machi and Urakami takes about 55–56 minutes and uses the station-front bus terminal, a different drop-off point.
Which stop is closest to Shinchi Chinatown/Hamanomachi accommodation?
First, take bus number ⑤ via Dejima Road and get off at Shinchi Chinatown for areas around Shinchi Chinatown, and Chuo-bashi for areas around Hamanomachi Arcade. It takes approximately 35 and 38 minutes from the airport, respectively, and costs 1,400 yen one way for adults. The section you walk after getting off varies depending on your accommodation address. Bus number ④ does not pass these two stops.
Can I get from the airport to downtown Nagasaki by train?
The airport has no railway station. From stop 2, take a Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo bus to Shin-Omura Station: about 13 minutes and 310 yen. Change to the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen Kamome for Nagasaki. A non-reserved JR ticket costs 1,740 yen, making 2,050 yen including the bus. Add ticketing, walking and waiting. Reserved fares differ. Omura and Shin-Omura are separate stations.
How do I get to Dejima after getting off the bus?
Take bus number ⑤ and get off at Shinchi Chinatown or Chuo-bashi, and then find the walking route with Dejima Omotemon Bridge as your destination. The bus does not stop directly at the entrance to the Dejima tourist facility. If you are departing from Nagasaki Station, take Line 1 bound for Sofukuji at the tram stop in front of Nagasaki Station and get off at Dejima. The tram costs 150 yen for adults. Please check the entrance and exit hours separately.
If my flight is delayed, will the airport bus wait?
Nagasaki Bus informs in its official FAQ that the last Airport Liner departing from the airport will wait for the arriving aircraft. However, waiting limits and coverage of individual flights were not specified. This should not be interpreted as a guarantee of standby for prefectural bus number ④ or all airport buses. At the arrivals hall, ask the operator and boarding staff about the last departure of the day.
What transportation can I use if I arrive late at night?
The last bus in the timetable from the airport to the city from October 1 to 24, 2026 is at 21:45 for both ④ and ⑤. Once the bus has finished, use the official taxi stand at number ⑥ on the 1st floor and the dispatch company provided by the airport, or secure a room, check-in, and transportation at an accommodation near the airport. Even if there is no tram connection in the city, you will still need to choose a separate taxi or actual walking route to your accommodation. The airport building is marked as closing at 22:00, so it should not be assumed to be an overnight waiting area.
Do I have to go through downtown Nagasaki when going to Huis Ten Bosch?
No. Take a Huis Ten Bosch/Sasebo bus from airport stop 2 via Shin-Omura. The 1–24 October 2026 timetable gives about 59 minutes and 1,500 yen to Huis Ten Bosch. This is separate from the city services at stops 4 and 5. Check your date’s service and the onward walk or transfer to your hotel.
