On a walk through Uchiko’s old streets, see the old Uchiko-za theatre. Its main building is closed for restoration, but dressing rooms at the rear open separately. This is a different visit from entering the main theatre building.

Admission
During restoration, the rear dressing rooms have a special admission price of ¥200 for adults or ¥100 for junior-high-school age and younger. This is not admission to the main theatre interior. The main building is closed for extensive restoration including seismic reinforcement.
Opening hours
Dressing-room reception during restoration runs 09:00–16:30, with closures from 29 December to 2 January. The main building has been closed for extensive restoration since 2 September 2024, with reopening planned for spring 2029. Timing may change; check official notices.

Dressing rooms at the rear open separately during main-building restoration. This does not include the main theatre’s stage or auditorium. Dressing-room visits also close from 29 December to 2 January; check Uchiko town’s notice for opening on your date.
