Individual permanent-exhibition admission is 1,000 yen for adults, 800 for high-school/university students, and 500 for elementary/junior-high students and visitors aged 70+. Preschool children enter free, but check reservation/application conditions. Special exhibitions and the outdoor dinosaur museum cost extra.

How to get to Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum
Take the Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line from Fukui to its Katsuyama terminus, then transfer to a museum-bound bus. Rail takes about one hour and the bus about 15 minutes, excluding waits and transfers. The D Line in the 1 April 2026 timetable runs on museum opening days. The C Line has different conditions and stops; check your chosen route. Adult Fukui–Katsuyama rail is 820 yen one way; Katsuyama–museum buses are 300 yen for adults and 200 for children.

Closed dates and extended summer hours
Closed on the second/fourth Wednesday each month, or the following day when that Wednesday is a public holiday. Guidance says it stays open through summer school holidays. Check the visit-date calendar for 31 December–1 January and temporary exhibition-change/maintenance closures. The 2026 summer extension ran 18 July–16 August, with hours 08:30–18:00 and last admission 17:30.
