Admission
Entry to the building is free. Individual admission to the fifth-floor Basic Exhibition is 510 yen for adults, 310 yen for high school students and 200 yen for elementary and junior high school pupils. Planetarium and special exhibitions cost extra. Preschool children accompanied by a guardian can enter the Basic Exhibition and regular Dome Theatre programmes free.
Opening hours
The building opens 09:30–21:30. The fifth-floor Basic Exhibition opens 09:30–18:00, with last admission at 17:30.
What to see at Fukuoka City Science Museum
Fifth-floor exhibitions and sixth-floor planetarium
The Basic Exhibition is on floor 5. For the planetarium, check programmes at the sixth-floor Dome Theatre. You need separate tickets for the Basic Exhibition and planetarium.
How to get to Fukuoka City Science Museum
Take the Nanakuma Line to Ropponmatsu and walk to the museum. Check exhibition tickets at the third-floor information and ticket counter.
Before you visit
Check exhibition closing times for an evening visit
Arrive before 17:30 for last admission to the Basic Exhibition. The building stays open until 21:30, but the Basic Exhibition closes at 18:00.
Tuesday and New Year closures
The museum closes every Tuesday and from 28 December to 1 January. If Tuesday is a public holiday, it opens and closes the next weekday. During spring, Golden Week, summer and winter school holidays, it opens daily except over New Year. Check the official closure calendar for your date.

Does a Basic Exhibition ticket include the planetarium?
No. You need a separate planetarium ticket. Special exhibitions also have different charges from the Basic Exhibition. Check tickets for your chosen exhibitions and programmes at the third-floor information and ticket counter.
