General access is free. Paid exhibitions, hall use, parking and transport cost extra.
Opening hours
Usual opening hours are 09:00–17:00, extended to 21:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and the day before a public holiday. It closes on Tuesdays, or the next weekday if Tuesday is a public holiday.

How to get to Yashimaru
From JR Yashima Station or Kotoden Yashima Station, take the shuttle to Yashima Sanjo. After getting off, use the official summit map showing the tourist car park and Yashima-ji Temple to find Yashimaru at number 11, then follow the signs. The facility leaflet also marks the main entrance. The official estimate of about 10 minutes on foot is from the Yashima Sanjo tourist car park to the facility. Allow extra time to find your way after leaving the bus. Adult shuttle fares are ¥340 one way from JR Yashima Station and ¥300 from Kotoden Yashima Station. Choose both the uphill and downhill services from the official timetable for your visit date. The direct service from stop 7 at Takamatsu Station costs ¥700 one way per adult. It runs on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and designated school holiday periods, so it is not available every weekday. Yashima Sanjo Kanko parking lot · 屋島山上観光駐車場

Before you visit
Evening opening and the return bus
Even when the facility opens into the evening, return buses do not necessarily run late. Choose your downhill shuttle before deciding how long to stay.

Yashimaru’s evening opening does not extend the shuttle timetable. Before planning an evening visit, check that transport down the mountain is available on your date.
