Collections: adults 400 yen; university students 260; high-school students and younger free. Groups of 20 or more: adults 320, university students 200. Special-exhibition prices vary; collections cost half price when viewed alongside a special exhibition on the same day.
Opening hours
In October–February, the museum opens 10:00–18:30, with gallery admission until 18:00. In March–September, it opens at 10:00 and closes 30 minutes after sunset, with gallery admission until sunset.

How to get to Shimane Art Museum
Walk about 15 minutes from JR Matsue. Allow a suggested 60–90 minutes for viewing, then return to the station by the same route. If choosing a bus in rain or because walking is difficult, check its fare and timetable separately.

Closures and exhibition dates
The museum closes on Tuesdays and 28 December–1 January. If Tuesday is a public holiday, the museum opens that day and closes the next day. Exhibition schedules may change closures.

Can I store large luggage at Shimane Art Museum?
Lockers beside general reception take a refundable 100-yen coin. Larger bags that do not fit can be left at reception. Bring a 100-yen coin; ask reception if lockers are full or you have large items.
