Paid-area admission through 21 November 2026 is 400 yen for adults, 300 yen for high-school students and 160 yen for elementary and junior-high students. From 23 November it changes to 1,000, 760 and 370 yen respectively. Children under six enter free. From 23 November, entry to the Seiden interior requires a ticket including a dated, timed reservation.
Opening hours
From April to November, the free area opens 08:00–19:30 and the paid area 08:30–19:00, with last admission at 18:30. From December to March, the free area opens 08:00–18:30 and the paid area 08:30–18:00, with last admission at 17:30. See below for the closure and opening arrangements on 22–23 November 2026.

Walk through Shureimon Gate to explore the castle grounds. You can stroll through the free area or buy a ticket for the paid area. The Seiden interior requires a dated, timed reservation, so choose your ticket according to the areas you want to see.

How to get to Shurijo Castle Park
From Kencho-mae, take Yui Rail towards Tedako-Uranishi and alight at Shuri. Shureimon Gate is about a 15-minute walk away. Allow additional time for walking inside the park. For a Seiden reservation, the operator recommends a slot 40–50 minutes after your expected arrival at Shuri Station.

Before you visit
Closure on 22 November and opening on 23 November 2026
All areas close on 22 November 2026. On 23 November, the free area inside the castle walls is scheduled to open at 11:15, and the paid area and Seiden interior at 12:00. From 23 November, entering the Seiden requires a ticket including a dated, timed reservation. A ticket without a reservation does not allow entry to the interior; same-day reservations are available only if spaces remain.

The official walking time from Shuri Station to Shureimon Gate is about 15 minutes, with walking inside the park additional. For a Seiden reservation, the operator recommends a slot 40–50 minutes after your expected arrival at Shuri Station.
