Admission
Adult collection admission costs 350 yen from 1 July 2026, or 280 yen per person for groups of 20+. Special-exhibition fees vary. Elementary, junior-high and high-school students, among other eligible visitors, enter collections/special exhibitions free. Collection entry is free for visitors aged 70 and above and for university students and younger students.
Opening hours
Museum hours are 09:30–18:00, last admission 17:30. The museum closes on Wednesdays, but opens on public-holiday Wednesdays and closes the next weekday instead. It also closes over New Year. Rooftop hours are 08:00–22:00, last admission 21:30, closed 1 December–15 March. Check calendar/notices for inspections, exhibition changes and weather closures.

How to get to Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design
Walk about 15 minutes from the north exit. By bus, use north stand 1 for services via Toyama Red Cross Hospital/prefectural museum and alight at the museum stop for immediate access. Check fares, travel-date services and step-free entrances in official guidance.

Allow separate park-walking time
You can walk via Kansui Park. The 15-minute station–museum estimate excludes park walks/rests, so allow extra.

Can I use the rooftop in winter?
