Hakuba Sanso is a mountain lodge reached on foot from the alpine route; there is no tourist transport directly to the lodge. Treat booking, weather and route conditions as separate checks.
The Hakuba Sanso live-photo page faces the surrounding ridges and does not confirm the whole climbing route.
Start with the actual trail route
Use the official route information to choose a trailhead, such as the approach from Sarukura. Transport to a lower access point is not transport to the lodge itself.
Confirm the lodge before the climb
Check the lodge’s reservation conditions and the current mountain information before leaving the valley. Do not rely on a camera image as a route-opening notice.
What the live-photo page shows
The lodge’s live-photo view faces nearby ridges including Shakushidake and Hakubayarigatake. It does not show the entire approach trail.
