A short Sakuragicho-based trip with Nippon Maru on day one and Sankeien on day two. Choose a late flight that leaves enough airport travel time after the garden visit.

Day 1: aboard Nippon Maru and a harbour walk

Keep arrival-day sightseeing light with Nippon Maru and harbour scenery in Sakuragicho. Travel from the airport to Yokohama, then Sakuragicho.

    If arriving by Keikyu from Haneda, follow JR transfer signs to the correct gates and platforms. Take a JR Negishi Line service stopping at Sakuragicho. Add Keikyu-to-JR transfer time and train waits.

  4. JR Sakuragicho Station → Nippon Maru entrance

    The official station-to-facility walk is about five minutes. Follow entrance signs to ship admission. This excludes accommodation access and train waits.

  5. Nippon Maru admission → Finish the ship visit

    Choose the 400-yen general ship-only ticket. This course excludes the 800-yen combined ticket with the port museum. Normal opening hours are 10:00–17:00, last admission 16:30. The facility opens on Monday public holidays and closes the next weekday; check maintenance and ship-specific temporary closures in the calendar for your date. Explore the areas open that day following staff guidance, then leave the ship.

  6. Ship exit → Memorial Park waterfront

    After the ship, take a short waterfront walk in Memorial Park for harbour scenery. Use areas open on site and omit the walk during restrictions or poor weather. Ship admission and the outdoor waterfront walk are separate choices.

If arriving late or on a ship closure day, omit the interior and choose harbour walking or a meal. Check maintenance and temporary closures in the facility’s calendar for your date.

Day 2: Sankeien gardens and historic buildings

See Sankeien’s garden and historic buildings, then return to Yokohama. Choose a late flight allowing a stop at your Sakuragicho hotel before airport travel.

    Choose a municipal bus service for your date on route 8 or 168 stopping at Sankeien Iriguchi · 三溪園入口. Check route number, destination and stops before boarding. Allow bus waits and traffic separately from garden viewing time.

    The official walk from the stop to the main gate is about five minutes. Sankeien Iriguchi bus stop and garden admission are separate points.

  4. Sankeien main gate → Finish the garden visit

    General adult admission costs 900 yen. Open 09:00–17:00, last admission 16:30. Check December 26–31 closures, temporary notices and on-site restrictions before entering. Visit the areas open that day, then leave through the main gate. Separate events and garden tearoom purchases are excluded from the itinerary and subtotal.

    Retrace the walking route to the stop. Check the Yokohama Station-bound boarding point and bus destination for your return.

    Take a Yokohama Station-bound bus in the timetable for your date and alight there. Waits and road traffic affect return time; allow luggage collection at your hotel and airport travel.

    After alighting, walk to the JR gates. Return on a Negishi Line service stopping at Sakuragicho. Add bus-stop-to-platform access and train waits.

    Collect any bags left at your hotel and return to Sakuragicho Station. Take a Negishi Line service stopping at Yokohama, then change to Keikyu for Haneda or JR N’EX for Narita.

Kamakura temples and Enoshima

Stay in Kamakura for Hasedera and Kotokuin on day one, then Enoshima on day two. Choose a late flight allowing a return from the island to your Kamakura hotel for bags before airport travel.

Travel to Kamakura and visit the two Hase temples today. Walk between them, then return to Hase Station.

    The official walk to Kotokuin’s main gate is about five minutes. Each temple charges admission separately.

  8. Kotokuin main gate → See the Great Buddha and leave through the main gate

    General adult admission costs 300 yen. The grounds open April–September 08:00–17:30 and October–March 08:00–17:00, with last admission 15 minutes before closing. The extra 50-yen Buddha interior visit is excluded. If entry restrictions or queues are long, avoid rushing to fit both temples.

  9. Kotokuin main gate → Hase Station area

    Walk about seven minutes back towards Hase Station. If having lunch, return to the same station afterwards for your train. Walking time excludes meals and restaurant queues.

    Return on a Kamakura-bound train. Standard adult single fare is 200 yen.

Adult admission for both temples totals 700 yen. If admission and Enoden queues are long, visit just one temple, eat around Hase and return.

Day 2: Enoshima observation tower and island walk

Visit Enoshima’s tower and daytime garden, then return to Kamakura. You will stop at your Kamakura hotel before travelling through Yokohama to the airport; finish the island visit the previous day if your flight is early.

    Cross Bentenbashi and follow Benzaiten Nakamise Street towards the shrine’s red torii. The official roughly 25-minute station-to-tower estimate excludes meals, viewing and queues.

    Before boarding Escar, buy the 1,100-yen adult daytime set ticket at section one’s ticket office for Sea Candle and all three Escar sections. Ascend the three sections left of the shrine’s red torii, then enter the garden on the right towards Sea Candle. The official Enoshima Station-to-tower estimate is about 25 minutes, excluding queues, meals and viewing. Escar runs uphill only; walk down on your return.

  4. Sea Candle and garden → Daytime tower and garden visit

    The garden is free in daytime, but the tower requires admission. Enjoy island views from the tower and garden, then leave through the exit.

    Escar runs uphill only, so descend on foot. Follow open paths back through Nakamise Street and Bentenbashi to Enoshima Station. After any lunch, return to the same station for a Kamakura-bound train. Add downhill walking and meals separately from the station-to-tower estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Enoden day passes for two days in Kamakura and Enoshima?

The Kamakura-based course totals 920 yen: Kamakura–Hase return 400 yen on day one and Kamakura–Enoshima return 520 yen the next day. Adult day passes cost 800 yen each and work only on their issue date, so two days cost 1,600 yen. For just the listed returns, ordinary tickets cost less. Compare your actual journeys again if stopping at more stations.
