Give Osaka city and regional sights their own days
Stay 4 nights at the same Namba hotel. Give castle, Mozu and Umeda separate days, or divide aquarium, Minoh and views. Compare Kyoto/Kobe as a day trip or overnight.
Reduce Namba nights by the nights spent in Kyoto/Kobe and decide whether to return to Osaka the next day. Admission/transport totals exclude accommodation, meals and airports.

Separate days for castle, Mozu exhibitions and city views
Stay 4 nights at the same Namba hotel. Give castle history, Mozu exhibitions and Umeda views separate days. Unlike the aquarium/waterfall route, this gives a day to Sakai history and day 4 to rest in Namba.
Separate days for castle, Mozu exhibitions and city views →5 days / 4 nights BAquarium, Minoh, Umeda and final-day Namba garden
For marine life rather than burial-mound exhibitions, stay 4 nights in Namba and visit Kaiyukan and Minoh Falls. Give aquarium, waterfall walks and Umeda deck separate days.
Aquarium, Minoh, Umeda and final-day Namba garden →Separate days for castle, Mozu exhibitions and city views
Stay 4 nights at the same Namba hotel. Give castle history, Mozu exhibitions and Umeda views separate days. Unlike the aquarium/waterfall route, this gives a day to Sakai history and day 4 to rest in Namba.
Day 1 | Castle exhibitions from Namba
Eat lunch in Namba, then enjoy castle exhibitions and park walks. After a delayed arrival, shorten the visit to fit last admission or move it to another day.
- Namba → Hommachi
After lunch, take a northbound Midosuji Line train from Namba. Get off two stops later at Hommachi and transfer to the Chuo Line.
- Hommachi → Tanimachi 4-chome
At Hommachi, stay inside the gates and transfer to the Chuo Line towards Nagata and Ikoma, getting off at Tanimachi 4-chome. Search the route from Namba via Hommachi to Tanimachi 4-chome for your date and allow for platform travel and waits at Hommachi.
- Tanimachi 4-chome, exit 9 → Otemon Gate and main tower
From Tanimachi 4-chome exit 9, follow the park map through Otemon to the main tower's ticket and entrance area. The official station-to-tower walk takes about 15–20 minutes. A typical tower visit takes 50–60 minutes, or about 90 minutes for a closer look. Afterwards, walk around the castle exterior and moats. If ticket queues are long, shorten the park walk. Other paid areas such as Nishinomaru Garden are separate choices.
- Main tower → Tanimachi 4-chome, Hommachi and Namba
Return to Tanimachi 4-chome and take the Chuo Line west towards Hommachi. Transfer to the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu for Namba, then check in and eat dinner. For evening lights, keep to a short Ebisubashi visit and save riverside walks for the last day.
- Late arrival or closure day → Adjusting the visit
Tower last admission is 17:30, but busy periods can end admissions earlier. Closed 28 December–1 January. After a late arrival, eat in Namba on day 1; move the tower to day 4 in place of resting in Namba. Check the replacement date's closures and transport first; do not also try to fit in Parks Garden. If no other day allows admission in time, omit castle exhibitions.
Day 2 | Mozu exhibitions, then back to Namba
Learn the burial mounds' shapes and history at the free visitor centre. External worship areas are optional subject to local access. After lunch, return to your Namba hotel.
- Namba hotel → Metro Tennoji and JR Hanwa Line
After breakfast, take the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu. At Tennoji, leave the Metro gates and go to the JR Hanwa platforms. The two operators require separate tickets.

- JR Tennoji → Mozu Station, west side
Take a Hanwa Line local train stopping at Mozu. Use the official search to choose a direct local service from Tennoji; do not simply board a rapid train. The checked adult ordinary fare is 240 yen one way.

- Mozu Station, west side → Mozu Kofungun Visitor Center
Go to the visitor centre 350 metres west of Mozu Station. Standard official hours are 09:00–18:00; admission is free. The centre is closed 29 December–3 January. Exhibitions and aerial footage show whole burial-mound shapes difficult to see from ground level. You do not enter the actual mounds.

- Visitor centre → Optional exterior visit and lunch
Read local information at the centre, then optionally walk to the external worship area and surroundings of the Nintoku Emperor's Mausoleum. Sakai City's approximately 10-minute walk starts at Mozu Station, not the centre. Imperial Household Agency standard worship hours are 08:30–17:00. Access can be restricted on weekends, Japanese public holidays, 29 December–3 January or for events/management; check date-specific information. If restricted, finish with exhibitions alone. Full-perimeter walks, paid museums, bicycles and balloon experiences are excluded from the basic itinerary. Choose a lunch/rest location actually open that day.

- Exhibitions, optional exterior visit and lunch → Mozu Station west side and JR platform
After exhibitions and lunch, return to Mozu Station. Directly from the centre, retrace the 350-metre route east to the station. After exterior walks or restaurants, allow extra time from that location. For a centre event, look up a local train you can catch afterwards; shorten walks if the return is getting late.

- Mozu Station → JR Tennoji
Take a direct Tennoji-bound Hanwa local from Mozu and get off at Tennoji. In the official search, distinguish this local route without transfers from faster transfer options. The checked adult ordinary fare is 240 yen one way. Continue from JR Tennoji to Namba by Metro.
- JR Tennoji → Metro Namba and the same hotel
Leave JR gates and follow Osaka Metro Midosuji Line signs to Metro gates; tickets are separate. Take a northbound train towards Umeda and get off at Namba, then return to the same booked hotel for dinner and rest. JR-to-Metro platform walks/waits and station-to-hotel access are extra. Stay at your Namba hotel after sightseeing today.
Day 3 | Umeda views, then back to Namba
- Namba hotel → Metro Umeda
After breakfast, take the Midosuji Line north towards Umeda and Shin-Osaka. Keep Umeda platform-to-North-Gate travel, meals and shopping separate from the train riding time.
- Metro Umeda, North Gate → Observation deck dedicated entrance
Go past Yodobashi and LINKS, between Grand Front's north/south buildings, across the intersection, through the short underpass and up to Sky Building across the road. Official Metro Umeda access of about 9 minutes and JR Osaka access of about 7 minutes start at different places. Find the outdoor deck entrance, distinct from office lifts.
- Kuchu Teien Observatory → Umeda Station and Namba hotel
For the suggested afternoon visit, use ordinary adult admission of 2,000 yen and standard hours 09:30–22:30, last admission 22:00. Check special opening dates and tickets, choosing your stay around dinner plans. Afterwards, retrace the walk to Umeda and take the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu back to Namba. For sunset, coordinate the date's sunset and return train. Check station-to-hotel access against your booked address too.

Day 4 | Parks Garden and meals in Namba
- Namba hotel → Namba Parks garden
Go to Namba Parks after 10:00. It is about 7 minutes from Midosuji Namba, or connected to Nankai Namba. Start at the shopping complex's floor 2 garden entrance and choose only your preferred floors. Free independent visits run 10:00–24:00; closures follow Namba Parks.
- Parks Garden → Meal in Namba and hotel return
Choose lunch and necessary shopping in businesses opening after 11:00. You do not need to climb every garden floor or add a paid tour. In poor weather, shorten the garden visit for indoor meals and rest. Food/shopping are excluded from the subtotal. Return to the same Namba hotel for your last night.
Day 5 | Riverside walk, then depart from Namba
- Namba hotel → Dotonbori riverside
Take a short morning riverside walk. The tourism bureau gives about 5 minutes from Midosuji Line Namba to the walkway. Follow signs towards Dotonbori and Ebisubashi, pass the signs around the bridge and go down to the riverside path. Return towards Ebisubashi after walking. Street and riverside walks exclude a boat cruise.
- Dotonbori riverside → Meal and return to Namba Station
After walking and eating, return towards Ebisubashi and Namba Station. Shops and restaurants keep individual hours; they do not all open early. For a morning departure, skip the riverside walk and go to your reserved service's departure station.
Included: Tower/deck admission, castle-day Namba Metro return and ordinary JR Tennoji–Mozu return
Extra costs and conditions: Umeda-day Metro, Sakai-day Namba–Tennoji Metro, airport travel, flights, accommodation, meals, storage, paid museums and extra facilities are excluded.
Ordinary adult tower 1,200 + deck 2,000 + castle-day Namba–Tanimachi 4-chome Metro 240 × 2 + ordinary JR Tennoji–Mozu 240 × 2 = admission/transport total 4,160 yen. JR/Metro fares use the existing official search dated 8 October 2026; Umeda- and Sakai-day Metro are excluded. The free visitor centre, Namba garden and riverside walks do not add paid museums, balloons or boats. No facility benefits are applied. Recheck actual fares, special operations and reservation conditions; calculate accommodation and excluded transport separately.
