Stay one night near Saga Station, then choose archaeological walks or bathing on day two. Choose Yoshinogari for a large park walk, or Takeo Motoyu for a short bath and rest. Both sightsee into the afternoon; for a morning Seoul flight, omit day-two visits or stay another night.

Saga Airport buses and JR tickets

Read these when planning airport departure and rail dates.

Do Saga Airport international buses run daily?

Choose an airport bus from Saga Station Bus Centre that connects with your booked flight. In Saga City Bus’s timetable for your travel period, distinguish domestic and international services, their operating days and stops. Express buses connecting with Seoul and Taipei flights use Saga Station Bus Centre stand 1 and airport international stand 2, separate from domestic stand 1. The international express ride takes about 30 minutes and costs 600 yen per adult each way. Airport buses are outside the itinerary subtotals. Collect any bags stored at your hotel and allow time to reach the bus centre.

International express services run on days when the flights operate; do not assume the same departure runs daily. They differ from domestic services that stop at Hakubutsukan-mae near Saga Castle. Fit sightseeing around your flight and bus, allowing time for airline check-in, baggage deadlines and security after reaching the airport.

The stand and fare guidance comes from the October 1–24, 2026 timetable. From October 25, recheck flights, bus times and stops in the timetable for the new period.

Do I need a Northern Kyushu Pass for travel only within Saga?

Itinerary subtotals add individual tickets and attraction charges without assuming a pass saves money. The JR Northern Kyushu Pass covers eligible sections in northern Kyushu, including Saga, on local trains and Midori limited expresses for three or five consecutive days. Even on a five-day trip, match the pass validity to your actual rail dates if journeys are separated.

Airport, Yutoku and Showa buses, admission and bathing cost extra. Eligibility requires non-Japanese nationality, residence outside Japan and entry as a tourist with Temporary Visitor status. Check services and seat reservations for your date too. If adding JR travel to Fukuoka, Nagasaki or elsewhere, compare the total rail fares with the pass price. Return travel and visits in additional regions are outside this Saga itinerary.
