Four nights in Saga: one base or a Takeo stay

Stay four nights in Saga for separate days at Yoshinogari, Karatsu Castle, Yutoku and Takeo without changing hotels. For more bathing and rest in Takeo, compare one night in Saga, two in Takeo and one back in Saga, with the middle day spent resting in Takeo.

After returning to Saga on day four, decide whether to visit Yoshinogari by checking return trains and the time available in the park.

Is a five-day JR pass better for a Takeo stay?

Do not decide from trip length alone. In the Takeo-stay itinerary, Saga–Takeo travel falls on days two and four, with a return trip to Yoshinogari on day four and no JR journey on day three. Compare individual fares with the pass price and its consecutive validity period. Hotels, bathing and buses cost extra even with a pass.
