Day 1: Awa Odori performance and dinner in the city

Watch one regular Awa Odori performance in the second-floor theatre.

    Watch one daytime performance in the second-floor theatre. Shows start at 11:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00 and last 40 minutes each. For a late arrival, consider the 20:00 evening show, which costs ¥300 more per adult. Do not schedule these regular shows on Kaikan closed days or during the 11–15 August suspension.

  4. Awa Odori Kaikan → Dinner near the station or Kaikan, then the same hotel

    After the show, choose an open restaurant near the Kaikan or station for dinner, then return to the same hotel. For an evening show, check restaurant last orders too.

Day 2: Bizan views and departure

Walk from your hotel near Tokushima Station to Awa Odori Kaikan, then go to the fifth-floor lower ropeway station. Enjoy Bizan’s views and take the same ropeway down.

    Take the Bizan Ropeway, operating from 09:00, and get off at the summit station. The ride takes about 6 minutes. Allow extra time for tickets, queues and summit walks. Recheck seasonal finishing times, maintenance closures and bad-weather suspensions for your date.

  2. Bizan summit station → Lower ropeway station

    After enjoying the views, take the same ropeway down.

  3. Lower station and Tokushima hotel → Your actual departure boarding point

    As well as the roughly 6-minute ropeway ride, allow time to reach your hotel and departure boarding point. Shorten the Bizan visit for an early departure.

B: one night in Naruto, then the strait

Stay one night in Naruto to look down over the strait and see whirlpools. Walk in a city park on day one, then visit Uzu no Michi around the tide times the following day.

Day 1: views over Naruto and your hotel

Stay one night in Naruto, with city views from Myokensan Park on day one and the strait from Uzu no Michi on day two. Station-area and strait-side hotels have different locations, so check return transport when booking. The park is always accessible, but finish your walk in daylight. For a late arrival, rest at your hotel and visit only the strait the next day.

  2. Myokensan Park → City views and JR Naruto Station

    Look out over Naruto from the free park on the former Muya Castle site. Today’s visit is an outdoor walk without building interiors. Afterwards, return towards the station and continue to your hotel. Eat at a city restaurant or your accommodation, checking restaurant hours for your date.

Day 2: Uzu no Michi and back to your hotel

Look down over Naruto Strait from Uzu no Michi’s walkway. Choose outward and return buses to Naruto Park around the tide times.

    From Naruto Station stop, take a Naruto Park-bound bus, get off at the park and walk about 5 minutes to the entrance. Adult fares are ¥390 one way or ¥780 return. Choose outward and return buses together from the operator’s timetable to suit the tide chart, ticket purchases and sightseeing.

  2. Uzu no Michi → Naruto hotel

    After the visit, return to Naruto Park stop and take a bus back to Naruto Station. Check park shop hours for lunch, or eat after returning to the station.

    Leave time from Naruto Station to reach your hotel and departure boarding point. For a morning departure, check whether the strait can fit after arrival on day one instead, or omit it.

No. Adult daytime performance admission is ¥1,300 and a Bizan Ropeway return is ¥1,500, totalling ¥2,800 for both. If choosing a separate combined ticket, check its inclusions and price.

Can I depart as soon as the Naruto return bus reaches the station?

Allow extra time after the bus reaches Naruto Station to collect luggage from your hotel and reach your actual departure boarding point. If the onward connection does not fit, shorten the day-two strait visit or check whether it can move to day one.
