Explore Ueno Park's paths and Shinobazu Pond on day 1. From Narita Airport, reserve a Keisei Ueno-bound Skyliner from your terminal's railway station and get off at the terminus.

Keisei Ueno and JR Ueno are separate stations; follow your hotel's station and exit directions. From Haneda, compare taking Keikyu to Shinagawa and transferring to a JR service stopping at Ueno. At Haneda Terminal 3, follow ‘Keikyu Railways’ signs from arrivals to the gates and platform. At other terminals, follow that terminal's railway signs.

- Ueno hotel and Park Exit → Fountain plaza, paths and Shinobazu Pond
Go to street level at JR Ueno Station's Park Exit and enter the park opposite. Walk via the fountain plaza, central path and Saigo Takamori statue to Shinobazu Pond.
- Park and Shinobazu Pond → Dinner near Ueno Station → same hotel
After the afternoon walk, return towards Ueno Station for dinner and your hotel. The park opens 05:00–23:00 and entry is free. Museums, zoo and boats are excluded. If arriving late, keep to paths near the station and skip the pond.

Day 2 | Worship at Senso-ji, then Skytree views
Visit Senso-ji, eat lunch in Asakusa, then go up Skytree for views of Tokyo's streets and buildings. From your Ueno hotel, go to Ginza Line G16 and take an Asakusa-bound train to Asakusa G19.

Walk about 5 minutes to the temple. Visit Kaminarimon, Nakamise and the main hall, then eat lunch in Asakusa.
- Tobu Asakusa Station → Tokyo Skytree Station
Go to Tobu Asakusa Station and take a local train stopping at Tokyo Skytree. The ride takes about 3 minutes; transfers and waits are extra.
- Tokyo Skytree Station, West Exit → Floor 4 main entrance
After getting off, walk about 6 minutes from the West Exit to the floor 4 main entrance.
- Observation deck → Transfer at Asakusa → Ueno hotel
After the deck, return to the same exit. Take Tobu towards Asakusa, then the Shibuya-bound Ginza Line to Ueno G16 and walk to your hotel. Tobu is excluded from subway tourist tickets. Allow for your meal and Tobu waits so you reach the entrance for your deck reservation. Without a ticket or during official suspension or admission closure, finish the temple visit and meal, then return via the same Asakusa route. Shorten street walks in heavy rain or outdoor crowds.

Day 3 | Ueno Toshogu, then the airport
Walk about 10 minutes from JR Ueno Station's Park Exit to Ueno Toshogu.

Enter after the paid area opens at 09:30. The 700-yen paid area inside the wall offers views of gilded buildings and the wall. Building interiors are closed to visitors; the peony garden is excluded.
- Toshogu and Park Exit → Around Ueno Station
Walk about 10 minutes towards the Park Exit to return to Ueno Station. Eat lunch here only if airport travel leaves enough time.

Return to the same Ueno hotel and collect luggage. Check your airport train's departure station: JR Ueno and Keisei Ueno are separate stations.

From JR Ueno, take the Yamanote Line towards Tokyo and Shinagawa to Shibuya.
- Shibuya Station, South Gate → Hachiko Square and crossing → dinner
Follow JR's crowd guidance through the South Gate and walk about 250 metres to Hachiko Square. See the statue and cross the adjacent scramble crossing. Walk around the square and streets, then eat dinner near Shibuya Station. The outdoor square does not follow shop hours; shorten your visit according to local controls and crowds.

Day 2 | Animals and breaks at Ueno Zoo
Spend today seeing the animals that interest you and taking breaks at Ueno Zoo. From your hotel, go to street level at JR Ueno's Park Exit, then walk about 5 minutes to the zoo's Main Gate.

Enter after the zoo opens at 09:30, see your chosen animals and take breaks. Check official notices for individual animal exhibits. If the zoo closes on Monday, you can swap it with day 1's Shibuya visit, but only if you can arrive before last admission at 16:00 with enough viewing time. If day 1 also cannot fit a visit, skip the zoo and choose a Ueno Park walk and meal. If weather or local controls also prevent park use, rest at your hotel.

Leave by the Main Gate and eat near the park.

Walk back to your Ueno hotel after your meal.
Day 3 | City views from the Asakusa terrace
Take an Asakusa-bound Ginza Line train from Ueno G16 to Asakusa G19.

Walk about 1 minute from exit 2 to the information centre opposite Kaminarimon.

Visit the floor 8 terrace and floor 7 exhibitions in the morning. The free terrace opens 09:00–22:00; floor 7 exhibitions are open 09:00–20:00. The centre's luggage storage service has ended, so do not plan to leave suitcases there.
