Admission
Gifu Park is free. Mt. Kinka Ropeway adult fares (ages 12 and over / junior-high students and older) are 1,300 yen return or 800 one way. Children aged four to under 12 pay 650 return or 400 one way. Previous admission for the closed castle is excluded.
Opening hours
The first upward ropeway departure is 09:00. Listed weekday last rides are 17:30 upwards and 18:00 downwards; weekend last rides are 20:00 and 20:30 respectively. Seasonal and evening services may differ, so check your date’s timetable.

How to get to Gifu Park and Mt. Kinka Ropeway
At JR Gifu stands 12 or 13, take a bus via Nagarabashi stopping at Gifu Park/Gifu Castle, such as N43. Check the timetable and stop display for your date. Walk about three minutes from the stop to the park. The ropeway ride takes about four minutes, with waiting time additional. Return by a JR Gifu-bound bus from the park stop.

There is walking after the ropeway too
The mountain has slopes and stairs. You still need to walk after alighting, so wear comfortable shoes.
Gifu Castle keep and museum closures
As checked on 8 October 2026, the keep has been closed since 19 May and the museum since 1 April. The keep closure is listed through around 31 October 2027; Gifu City plans reopening in November 2027. Check reopening notices if your purpose is the castle interior. Ropeway and viewpoint operations are separate.

Ropeway maintenance suspensions
Maintenance suspensions are planned for 1–28 December 2026 and 7 January–16 February 2027. Reconsider your visiting date if you planned to ride during these periods.

Can I enter Gifu Castle’s keep?
As checked on 8 October 2026, the keep and museum are closed; Gifu City plans reopening in November 2027. A reopening plan is not a confirmed opening date, so recheck notices before visiting. Ropeway and viewpoint operations are separate.
