Admission
2026 Kawadoko seating costs 700 yen for adults and 600 for elementary-school children, including Kaga bocha tea. Dessert sets cost 1,000 and 900 yen respectively. Check hotel and proof conditions before using affiliated-inn guest discounts. This is a tea-seating charge, not admission for the whole riverside path, and is extra to walking-course subtotals.
Opening hours
2026 Kawadoko hours are 09:30–16:00 from 1 April to 31 October, with last orders 15:45. From 1 to 30 November, hours are 10:00–15:00, last orders 14:45. These hours apply to tea seating, not the whole riverside path.

Walk along bridges and river
The Korogi–Kurotani path is about 1.3 km. View the gorge from bridges, or walk a nearby section from your hotel and return.
How to get to Kakusenkei
Kawadoko is below Ayatori Bridge, about 850 metres from Yamanaka Onsen bus terminal. Official tourism guidance gives about 15 minutes on foot.

The guide to nearby sights gives about seven minutes on foot from Ohanami Kyubei to Korogi Bridge and 20 minutes to Kawadoko. Walk a nearby section from the bridge and return the same way. Allow separate time and route planning for Ayatori Bridge or a different hotel. Three- and four-night courses with two onsen nights use part of the 1.3-km path. Allow more walking time if continuing to Kawadoko or the path’s end.

Before you visit
Kawadoko closures depend on season and weather
Kawadoko closes December–March, with variable November closed days. Rain or rising river levels stop service. Seats cannot be reserved; check visit-date operation if you want a tea break.
Riverside stairs and access guidance
Some path sections have stairs. Follow on-site guidance and walk a distance comfortable for your party. Plan your return too if walking to another bridge.

2026 Kawadoko maintenance closures
The 2026 guidance lists maintenance closures on 9–11 June and 8–10 September. These dates apply to tea seating, not the whole path.
Questions about Kakusenkei
Can I reserve Kakusenkei Kawadoko seats?
The 2026 official guidance does not accept seat reservations. Kawadoko runs April–November, but rain or rising water can suspend it. Check operation for your date before going.
