For regular special exhibitions, general admission is 1,200 yen, high-school/university students 500, elementary/junior-high students 300; children below elementary-school age enter free. The RISD special exhibition on 8 August–12 October 2026 charges 1,800, 800 and 500 respectively. Use each exhibition’s information for other periods.
Opening hours
The museum opens 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. It closes on 31 December. Only selected rooms may open during display changes, so check the dates of your preferred special exhibition.

How to get to Hokusai-kan Museum
Take Nagano Electric Railway from Nagano to Obuse Station, then walk about 12 minutes to the museum. Adult local fares are 870 yen one way; limited-express supplements and reserved seats cost extra. Choose outward and return trains together in your date’s timetable.

Partial exhibition opening on 13 and 23 October 2026
On 13 and 23 October 2026, only areas including the festival-float room open, at 300 yen general admission. The full special exhibition is unavailable and discounts cannot be used. For the special exhibition, visit within its run outside these changeover dates.
