What the camera shows
Otaru streets and harbor from the summit
Viewing format
YouTube channel
Open the YouTube channel and choose an active broadcast for this location. The channel may also list recordings of earlier streams.
When to choose this view
Use this view as a reference for the harbour and city perspective before visiting Otaru Tengu-yama Observatory. For a closer canal view, use the Otaru Canal camera; this one is for the mountain outlook.
What this view cannot tell you
Good visibility does not guarantee ropeway or observatory operations, or mountain-road conditions. Check the facility’s official notices for wind and snow restrictions.
If no stream is active, check the operator’s camera page for an update. Recordings and channel previews may not show current conditions.
“Connection last checked” records a link check, not an image capture time or confirmation of a live broadcast.
The camera only covers its field of view. Check the relevant official notices for weather, transport and access restrictions. Source information
During an earthquake, severe rain, typhoon or other emergency, use this view only as a reference. Follow official weather, disaster and transport alerts, plus instructions on site, when deciding whether to evacuate or travel.
Look toward Mount Asahidake from the ropeway's Sugatami Station. The official camera offers a view of the mountain through the seasons, from lingering snow to autumn colors.
Look out over Lake Kussharo from the Gurutto Panorama roadside station at Bihoro Pass. Periodically updated images show mist over the lake and seasonal changes in the surrounding mountains.
Look over Hakodate and the sea on either side from HBC's Mount Hakodate camera. It offers city views by day and lights at night, though the direction and image updates may change.
Look down on Hakodate, with the sea on both sides of the city, from the summit observatory. The ropeway's official camera offers daytime views and the city nightscape.
Look toward the Kushiro River and Nusamai Bridge through STV's camera. The official page gives different installation details in Japanese and English, so the map uses an approximate reference near the bridge.
