Four days in Hiroshima: one night in Onomichi?
For separate days of Onomichi hill views and Jodoji, stay two Hiroshima nights then one in Onomichi. To avoid moving hotels, stay three Hiroshima nights and give garden, collections, Miyajima and museum a day each. Finish at Onomichi Station when staying there, or Hiroshima Station when staying in the city.

Compare ordinary JR tickets for your onward departure city too before choosing a pass. The 2,480-yen total excludes JR train fares and cannot by itself be compared with a pass price.

Frequently asked questions
Are trams and ropeway free with a JR pass?
Hiroden trams and Senkoji Ropeway are not free with these two passes. Kansai-Hiroshima/Sanyo-San’in cover eligible JR Sanyo Line and JR Miyajima Ferry journeys within validity; 100-yen visitor tax is extra. Senkoji offers a 630-yen adult return to the holder presenting JR-WEST RAIL PASS before purchase. Distinguish that discount from route totals using the standard 700.

Does an Onomichi overnight change the final departure station?
With an Onomichi stay, visit Jodoji then return to Onomichi Station. With a Hiroshima stay, visit the museum then return to Hiroshima Station. Jodoji access follows the same route out and back: station–lower station about 15 minutes, then lower station–temple about 20. Allow about 70 minutes for the return walk and a suggested 60-minute visit, plus rest and boarding time. Shinkansen requires separate travel to Shin-Onomichi.
