For three nights in Kumamoto, should I keep one hotel or spend a hot-spring night?
To keep one hotel, stay three nights in the city and visit the castle, garden, Aso and museum on separate days. For a ryokan night, compare one city night, one Kurokawa night and one back in the city. Add the museum on the return day only if your reserved bus arrives early enough and the museum is open.

Compare Kagoshima sand bathing and shrine trips
For sand bathing or shrines rather than grasslands and hot-spring ryokans, compare Kagoshima’s three-night choices. Reallocate hotel nights instead of adding both regions’ full courses to the same dates. Compare ordinary tickets with designated Southern or All Kyushu coverage for Kumamoto–Kagoshima-Chuo shinkansen; Northern Kyushu excludes it. Station access, local trams, ferries, buses or rental cars after arrival, and changed hotel costs are separate. Check actual-date return trains and hotel access first.
