Waterfall walks or burial-mound exhibitions for 4 days?
Choose 3 Umeda nights for Minoh Falls or 3 Namba nights for Mozu exhibitions and Kaiyukan. A Kyoto Nijo Castle/Arashiyama or Kobe Port Tower day replaces the Minoh/Mozu day.
For Kyoto/Kobe, choose JR Osaka–Kyoto or Sannomiya return trains. Check sight-to-station walks and the return to your same Osaka hotel too.

Minoh walks, city views and final-day Dotonbori
Choose 3 nights in Umeda if you want a day walking beside a river to a waterfall. Take Hankyu to Minoh, then walk to the falls. Visit the observation deck on day 1, waterfall on day 2 and Osaka Castle on day 3.

For history and marine life rather than waterfall walks, give Mozu's free exhibitions and Kaiyukan separate days. Stay 3 nights at the same Namba hotel and walk a garden near the station on the last day.

Day 1 | Umeda hotel → observatory → hotel
- Umeda hotel → JR Osaka Station and Sky Building dedicated entrance
Arrive by day and eat lunch near Osaka Station. Use JR Osaka's floor 3 Bridge Gate, then head towards Central North Exit. Descend by escalators to floors 2 and 1 and follow the side of Grand Front's south building. Cross the intersection, pass through the short approximately 40-metre underpass and come up to street level: Sky Building is across the road. The official JR-station walk is about 7 minutes; hotel-to-station travel and indoor queues are extra. Find the outdoor deck entrance, distinct from office tower lifts.
- Dedicated deck entrance → Visit and return to Umeda hotel
See the deck and rest in the afternoon, then return near Osaka Station for dinner and hotel check-in. Standard deck hours are 09:30–22:30, last admission 22:00. After a late arrival, you can move the deck to after day 3's castle visit; check last admission for both.
Day 2 | Hankyu Osaka-umeda → Minoh Falls → Umeda
- Hankyu Osaka-umeda → Ishibashi handai-mae and Minoh
Finish waterfall walks in daylight. Check park controls, weather and railway notices before leaving. If rain or controls prevent walking, choose a rest day in Umeda. When postponing to tomorrow, check castle closure dates too. After breakfast, take a Hankyu Takarazuka Line train stopping at Ishibashi handai-mae, then transfer there to a Minoh-bound Minoh Line train.
Hankyu Takarazuka and Minoh Line station guideHankyu weekday timetables, revised February 2025Park accessWaterfall
- Minoh Station → Waterfall walk and station return
Walk about 5 minutes from the station to the park entrance at Ichinohashi. The full walk from the station to the falls takes about 40–50 minutes. Do not add these overlapping times together. We suggest a morning start, riverside walk and rest at the falls. Return along the same path and eat lunch near the station. Fatigue or breaks can make the return longer.
- Minoh Station → Ishibashi handai-mae and Umeda
After lunch and rest near the station, take the Minoh Line towards Ishibashi handai-mae, then transfer to the Takarazuka Line for Osaka-umeda. Choose return services in official date-specific timetables before leaving and check platform destination signs when transferring.

Day 3 | Umeda → Osaka Castle → Umeda
- Umeda → Hommachi and Tanimachi 4-chome
Take the Midosuji Line south towards Hommachi, then transfer to the Chuo Line towards Nagata and Ikoma.
- Tanimachi 4-chome, exit 9 → Main tower visit
From Tanimachi 4-chome exit 9, walk through Otemon to the tower in about 15–20 minutes for morning exhibitions. Viewing typically takes 50–60 minutes, or about 90 for a closer look; admission queues are extra.
- Tower and park → Return via Hommachi to Umeda
After lunch and a park break, return to the station and take the Chuo Line to Hommachi, then the Midosuji Line to Umeda. If you missed the deck on day 1, visit after eating in Umeda, allowing for castle-to-deck travel and walking.
Day 4 | Umeda → Dotonbori → Umeda Station → departure
- Umeda hotel → Namba and Dotonbori riverside
For an afternoon departure, take the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu to Namba, then walk about 5 minutes to the riverside.
- Dotonbori riverside → Return to Umeda and depart
After a morning riverside walk and lunch in Namba, take the northbound Midosuji Line back towards Umeda. Morning walks do not guarantee open shops. Skip the final walk if a Namba return leaves too little time to reach your departure station.
Included: Tower/deck admission and ordinary Hankyu Osaka-umeda–Minoh return
Extra costs and conditions: All Metro sections, airport transport, flights, accommodation, meals, storage and extra paid facilities are excluded. Transport beyond the Hankyu return costs separately.
Hankyu ordinary return fare is 560 yen. Tower 1,200 yen + deck 2,000 yen + ordinary adult Osaka-umeda–Minoh fares 280 yen each way = 3,760 yen. Waterfall and riverside walks include no paid facilities. Metro across several days, airport transport, flights, accommodation, meals and storage are excluded. Official material was checked on 8 October 2026. Check actual Minoh returns and park controls for your date.
Mozu burial-mound exhibitions, aquarium and final-day garden
For history and marine life rather than waterfall walks, give Mozu's free exhibitions and Kaiyukan separate days. Stay 3 nights at the same Namba hotel and walk a garden near the station on the last day.
Day 1 | Namba hotel → Dotonbori → Namba hotel
- Namba hotel → Dotonbori riverside
After lunch in Namba, walk towards the riverside. From subway Namba, follow street-level signs towards Ebisubashi and Dotonbori. The tourism bureau's approximately 5-minute walk starts at Midosuji Namba; your hotel walk differs.
- Dotonbori riverside → Hotel check-in and dinner
See riverside views and signs in the afternoon, then check in and rest before dinner. Riverside walks need no facility ticket; food and cruises cost separately. After a late arrival, take only a short evening walk without reducing tomorrow's Mozu exhibition time.
Day 2 | Mozu exhibitions, then back to Namba
Learn the burial mounds' shapes and history at the free visitor centre. External worship areas are optional subject to local access. After lunch, return to your Namba hotel.
- Namba hotel → Metro Tennoji and JR Hanwa Line
After breakfast, take the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu. At Tennoji, leave the Metro gates and go to the JR Hanwa platforms. The two operators require separate tickets.

- JR Tennoji → Mozu Station, west side
Take a Hanwa Line local train stopping at Mozu. Use the official search to choose a direct local service from Tennoji; do not simply board a rapid train. The checked adult ordinary fare is 240 yen one way.

- Mozu Station, west side → Mozu Kofungun Visitor Center
Go to the visitor centre 350 metres west of Mozu Station. Standard official hours are 09:00–18:00; admission is free. The centre is closed 29 December–3 January. Exhibitions and aerial footage show whole burial-mound shapes difficult to see from ground level. You do not enter the actual mounds.

- Visitor centre → Optional exterior visit and lunch
Read local information at the centre, then optionally walk to the external worship area and surroundings of the Nintoku Emperor's Mausoleum. Sakai City's approximately 10-minute walk starts at Mozu Station, not the centre. Imperial Household Agency standard worship hours are 08:30–17:00. Access can be restricted on weekends, Japanese public holidays, 29 December–3 January or for events/management; check date-specific information. If restricted, finish with exhibitions alone. Full-perimeter walks, paid museums, bicycles and balloon experiences are excluded from the basic itinerary. Choose a lunch/rest location actually open that day.

- Exhibitions, optional exterior visit and lunch → Mozu Station west side and JR platform
After exhibitions and lunch, return to Mozu Station. Directly from the centre, retrace the 350-metre route east to the station. After exterior walks or restaurants, allow extra time from that location. For a centre event, look up a local train you can catch afterwards; shorten walks if the return is getting late.

- Mozu Station → JR Tennoji
Take a direct Tennoji-bound Hanwa local from Mozu and get off at Tennoji. In the official search, distinguish this local route without transfers from faster transfer options. The checked adult ordinary fare is 240 yen one way. Continue from JR Tennoji to Namba by Metro.
- JR Tennoji → Metro Namba and the same hotel
Leave JR gates and follow Osaka Metro Midosuji Line signs to Metro gates; tickets are separate. Take a northbound train towards Umeda and get off at Namba, then return to the same booked hotel for dinner and rest. JR-to-Metro platform walks/waits and station-to-hotel access are extra. Stay at your Namba hotel after sightseeing today.
Day 3 | Tempozan aquarium, then back to Namba
- Namba → Osakako Station and Kaiyukan
Eat in Namba in the morning, then leave for your reserved entry time. Take the Midosuji Line north towards Hommachi, then transfer to the Chuo Line west towards Cosmosquare and Yumeshima for Osakako. From exit 1, follow Tempozan Marketplace/Ferris wheel signs for about 5 minutes to Kaiyukan. You cannot leave to eat and re-enter, so plan meals before or after your visit.
- Kaiyukan → Viewing time and meals
Official school-group material gives 90–120 minutes for a circuit. Allow more for leisurely viewing and breaks. Hours vary by date; check the operating calendar alongside your reserved entry time.
- Tempozan → Osakako, Hommachi and Namba hotel
Rest in Tempozan after the visit, then retrace your path to Osakako exit 1. The approximately 5-minute walk excludes station-to-platform travel and train waits. Take the Chuo Line east towards Hommachi and Ikoma, then the Midosuji Line towards Tennoji and Nakamozu for Namba and your hotel.
Day 4 | Garden walk, then Namba Station
- Namba hotel → Parks Garden walk
Take a short garden walk. Official facility access is about 7 minutes from Midosuji Namba or via the connecting passage from Nankai Namba. Start at the shopping complex's floor 2 garden entrance, walk for your remaining time and come down. You do not need all floors 2–9. The free garden opens at 10:00; shops and restaurants usually at 11:00.
- Parks Garden → Namba Station and departure
After walking, come down from the garden floors and follow signs towards the Nankai Namba passage or Midosuji Namba. With time remaining after 11:00, choose a meal or indoor shops. Skip the garden during wind/rain, closures or for an early departure.
Included: Aquarium admission on 8 October 2026, aquarium-day Metro return and ordinary JR Tennoji–Mozu return
Extra costs and conditions: Sakai-day Namba–Tennoji Metro, airport travel, flights, accommodation, meals, storage, paid museums and other facilities are excluded. Recheck actual aquarium-date admission and JR fares.
Adult aquarium admission of 2,800 yen is the ticket-search example for 8 October 2026. That day's Kaiyukan 2,800 + Namba–Osakako Metro 290 × 2 + ordinary JR Tennoji–Mozu 240 × 2 = admission/transport total 3,860 yen. JR 240 yen uses the existing official fare search dated 8 October; no limited express is used. Visitor centre and Namba garden are free. Sakai-day Metro is excluded, so this is not total transport cost. Other dates change aquarium admission; rail and facility benefits are not applied.

Frequently asked questions
Does the subway one-day pass cover Minoh or Sakai?
Hankyu to Minoh and JR Hanwa in Sakai require separate fares. They differ from Metro and designated city-bus coverage.
Do I enter the burial mound at Mozu?
The basic visit is free visitor-centre exhibitions. You cannot enter the Nintoku Emperor's Mausoleum. External worship areas are optional subject to local access; during controls, finish with exhibitions alone.
Does a JR pass cover all city travel when adding Kyoto or Kobe?
Calculate eligible JR sections separately from local transport. Hotel-to-JR-Osaka travel and destination-station-to-sight returns cost separately. Metro, Hankyu Minoh and Kobe City Loop are not all included in one JR pass. Compare ordinary tickets and passes using actual return sections and valid dates first.

Should I include Kyoto and Kobe in the same day?
Choose one city first. This replaces the existing Minoh/Mozu day with Kyoto or Kobe. Allow for sightseeing, local travel and return to your same Osaka hotel; do not combine both cities and Osaka sightseeing in one day.
