Walk among samurai residences and artisans' houses to explore the former town at Ichijodani's reconstructed townscape. Houses and streets were reconstructed using excavated stone walls and building foundations. Enter the buildings to see displays recreating life at the time.

Admission
Regular admission is JPY 330 for ages 15 and over; JPY 100 is listed for ages 70 and over and primary and junior high school students. Groups of 20 or more pay JPY 260 at the regular rate or JPY 80 for ages 70 and over and primary and junior high school students. Check the official guide for reductions including disability-handbook free-admission conditions, and temporary restrictions for your date.
Opening hours
Hours are 9 am–5 pm, with entry until 4:30 pm. The townscape is closed from 28 December to 4 January.

See reconstructed samurai residences and artisans' houses along the streets. Inside, displays recreate life using recovered artefacts; explore them after walking between the houses.
How to get to Reconstructed Townscape of Ichijodani
If using the free shuttle running on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 4 April to 29 November 2026, alight at the reconstructed townscape stop (復原町並). Follow admission signs from the stop and allow time for tickets and queues. Capacity is 24 passengers, with priority for guided-tour participants. This shuttle is unavailable on weekdays.
