Which webcams can I use to check Mount Fuji visibility?
Oishi Park shows Lake Kawaguchi from the north shore, Lakeside Hotel has a still image toward Fuji, and the Panoramic Ropeway looks out from above. For Lake Motosu, open its own camera. Check the source to see whether Fuji is visible now: look for the capture time on photos or the live label and broadcast date on videos.
The time this site checked a link is not when its scene was captured or broadcast. Sources and location notes · Suggest a correction
What changes around Kawaguchiko through the year?
Spring · lakeside blossoms
For blossoms, look at the northern lakeside walking paths. Mid-April is typical, not guaranteed. The Oishi Park camera can show Fuji and the shore in its frame; use the tourism board for bloom reports.
Check the lake and Fuji view →Summer · green shores and flowers
Oishi Park and Yagisaki Park draw summer visitors for lavender and green lakeside scenery. Their flowers are not necessarily visible up close on a webcam. Check the frame for Fuji and the lake, then consult local flower updates.
Check the lake and Fuji view →Autumn · maple colour
For November colour, consider the Momiji Corridor on the northern shore. Lakeside trees in a camera frame may offer a clue, but cannot establish the colour across the whole corridor. Check the tourism board’s foliage news.
Check the lake and Fuji view →Winter · snow on Fuji
Winter can bring a snowy Fuji and a clearer mountain outline. Use the Lakeside Hotel image to check whether the mountain is actually visible. One photo cannot confirm snow or ice along your route; check weather and transport notices.
Check the lake and Fuji view →If people happen to appear in the station-area camera, their outerwear may offer a clue, not a temperature reading. Check the Kawaguchiko forecast and transport notices before you set out.
Fujikawaguchiko tourism board seasonal guide ↗How should I compare still images with video?
Match capture dates and times on still images with live indicators and broadcast dates on videos. Our connection-check time is not the camera’s capture time. An older image makes it hard to tell whether clouds differ because of location or elapsed time.
Should I cancel a visit if Fuji is hidden on camera?
One image cannot predict visibility for the whole day. Check another viewpoint and the local forecast, and consider the lake and nearby sights in your plans. A clear mountain view does not establish safe climbing conditions at the summit.
Cloud and visibility conditions vary by viewpoint. One camera cannot establish weather or hiking conditions for the whole mountain.
