The individual combined ticket for the Saiin Garan, Daihozoin and Toin Garan costs ¥2,000 for adults, university students and high school students, ¥1,700 for junior high school students, and ¥1,000 for elementary school children. Payment is cash only. Separate group rates apply to groups of 30 or more. The official price revision took effect on March 1, 2025.
Opening hours
Visiting hours are 08:00–17:00 from February 22 to November 3 and 08:00–16:30 from November 4 to February 21. Admission closes 30 minutes earlier, at 16:30 and 16:00 respectively. Check separate dates and conditions for special openings.

How to get to Horyuji Temple
Take a JR Yamatoji Line train from JR Nara Station to Horyuji Station. Leave by the north exit and walk about 20 minutes to Horyuji Temple’s Nandaimon Gate. Check the exit: the bus route leaves from the south side. If taking a bus, check the timetable and fare for your date separately.

Visiting tips
Allow more time after reaching Nandaimon Gate
Nandaimon Gate is about a 20-minute walk from JR Horyuji Station’s north exit. After arriving, you still need to reach the admission desk and visit the Saiin Garan, Daihozoin and Toin Garan. Some facilities may stop admitting visitors as closing time approaches, so arrive with time to spare.
