Canada–Japan flights: flight numbers, counters and disruption help

Search your flight number for check-in counters and airline help in Canada or Japan. Check a dated Narita or Haneda record for airport-supplied status.

Check a dated Narita or Haneda flight record

Choose the date the flight departs from or arrives in Japan. A flight leaving Canada may arrive in Japan the following day. Results show the Japan airport event—not the Canadian departure time or arrival time.

Retrieved on request, not automatically refreshed. Supported airports: Narita and Haneda; yesterday/today/tomorrow in Japan, subject to source availability. Kansai and Canadian boards open through official links. No reservation, passport or payment information is requested.

Choose your operating airline

Look for “operated by” on the ticket. The marketing airline and the airline handling your airport check-in can differ. These five guides cover counter locations, check-in deadlines, disruption documents and baggage reporting.

Airline office, airport counter or baggage service?

For a departing flight, go to the operating airline’s check-in or airport service desk. For a missing or damaged bag, report to the airline’s arrivals baggage service before leaving. Ticket changes may need your original travel agent. The contacts below are reservation/support channels—not verified street addresses or airport counter assignments.

If your flight is delayed or cancelled, start here

  1. Check the operating airline, flight number and date. Save the airline’s email, app message and any revised booking.
  2. Check the departure display for the terminal and counter. Photograph the flight number, revised time and counter sign where permitted; avoid other travellers’ personal information.
  3. Ask the airline about the replacement flight, refund channel and checked bags before cancelling yourself or paying for a new journey.
  4. Request written disruption evidence and keep itemized receipts. A photograph is a supporting record, not an official certificate or claim decision.

Ask at a Japan airport

Where is the check-in counter, and when does it open and close?

遅延・欠航の証明書を発行できますか。

Can you issue a delay or cancellation certificate?

Rebooking and your bag

振替便または払い戻しについて教えてください。

Please explain my replacement-flight or refund options.

預けた荷物はどうなりますか。

Delay certificate, refund, compensation or insurance?

These are different requests. A certificate records the flight event; a refund concerns your ticket; compensation and insurance payments each have their own conditions. Ask the operator for the disruption reason and the ticket seller for the appropriate refund route.

ANA: Delay / cancellation certificate

Use the airline’s own certificate search with the operating flight number and relevant date. An empty certificate result does not establish that your flight was on time.

Japan Airlines (JAL): Delay / cancellation certificate

Use the airline’s own certificate search with the operating flight number and relevant date. An empty certificate result does not establish that your flight was on time.

Air Canada: Disruption evidence and claim channels

Ask Air Canada what written disruption evidence it can provide; the refund form does not submit a compensation claim.

ZIPAIR: Certificate of Delay / Cancellation

Canadian passenger rights and unresolved complaints

For flights to or from Canada, read the Air Passenger Protection Regulations and the CTA’s explanation of rebooking, refunds and compensation. Eligibility depends on the flight and disruption category, not your passport or this page’s language.

Write to the airline first. If the complaint remains unresolved after allowing 30 days for a response, review the CTA’s complaint requirements. Keep the original itinerary, correspondence and receipts; do not upload personal travel documents to JapanLiveNow.

Flight numbers, counters and delay documents: common questions

How do I find my Canada–Japan flight by flight number?

Enter the full flight number, such as NH115, JL017, WS81 or ZG22. The reviewed directory accepts spaces and leading zeroes. Choose the operating airline, departure direction or either airport to narrow it down. Use the dated airport lookup for current Narita or Haneda records.

Where is my airline’s check-in counter in Canada or Japan?

Vancouver international check-in is on Level 3. The reviewed Calgary WestJet location is Door 16; Air Canada at Toronto Pearson uses Terminal 1, Level 3. At Narita, JAL uses Terminal 2, 3F; Air Canada uses Terminal 1 South Wing, 4F; WestJet and ZIPAIR use Terminal 1 North Wing, 4F. These are general locations; counter letters and rows can change.

Does a delayed flight give me more time to check in?

Do not assume a later departure extends check-in or bag-drop deadlines. ZIPAIR’s general deadline is one hour before departure. WestJet’s Calgary deadline is 75 minutes, with a general international deadline of 60 minutes; its Narita deadlines do not move automatically with a delay. Confirm instructions for the original flight with the operator.

How do I get a flight delay or cancellation certificate for travel insurance?

Use the operating airline’s official process. ANA, JAL and ZIPAIR have certificate search pages. WestJet has a separate travel-insurance information request, sent directly to the insurer; it is not an instant certificate. For Air Canada, use its support and claim channels to ask what written evidence is available. A certificate does not approve an insurance payout.

Should I go to an airline office, check-in counter or baggage desk?

For a departing flight, start at the operating airline’s airport check-in or service desk. For a bag that has not arrived or is damaged, report to the airline’s arrivals baggage service before leaving. Booking changes may need the original ticket seller. General telephone contacts are not airport desk locations; no unverified city-office address is listed.

My ticket says Air Canada or ANA, but who handles check-in?

Check the operated-by line. The October 2 Haneda record lists AC6248 as a marketing code for ANA-operated NH116, and NH6820 for Air Canada-operated AC2. Search results show the operator and observed codeshares together. Use that operator’s airport counter, not the marketing code alone.

Where do I report delayed, lost or damaged baggage on a Japan flight?

Report a missing or damaged bag to the operating airline’s arrivals baggage service before leaving the airport. Keep the baggage tag, report reference, damage photos and itemized receipts. Airport reporting and a later written claim can have different deadlines; follow the airline-specific baggage instructions rather than a general deadline.

Is a cancelled flight refund the same as compensation under Canadian rules?

No. A ticket refund, rebooking, compensation for inconvenience and an insurance payment are separate requests. Check the disruption reason, operating airline, booking channel and applicable conditions. Write to the airline first; the CTA complaint process requires allowing the airline 30 days to respond.

Sources, dates and coverage

JapanLiveNow is an independent travel guide. Ten reviewed airline/airport pairs are searchable in both directions; this is not a complete national route inventory. Air Canada’s six published October pairs, ANA/JAL schedules and dated Narita/Haneda records have different validity periods. Upcoming Vancouver–Sapporo service is kept separate in the Air Canada guide.

Airport observations were retrieved on 2026-10-02T14:01:01.638Z. Recorded counter letters belong to that airport event date; they are not permanent assignments. The dated lookup supports Narita and Haneda only, with Japan event dates. Canadian departure times and counters are not supplied by those Japan feeds. An unavailable feed or missing flight record is never labelled a cancellation.

The airline and airport links beside each location support that location. Counter rules were reviewed October 2, 2026; flight retrieval time and travel date are separate. Report a factual error without booking references, passport details or insurance documents.
