Admission

From April 1, 2026, individual admission is ¥500 for adults and university students, or ¥200 for elementary, junior high and high school students. Preschool children enter free. Groups of 30 or more pay ¥400 and ¥100 respectively.

Visiting hours are 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:45. It opens year-round.

Where earth once covered the tomb, a chamber built from huge stones remains. Look closely at the burial mound to see how the large stones interlock.

How to get to Ishibutai Tumulus

Take a bus that stops at Ishibutai from bay 2 outside Kashiharajingumae Station’s east exit. Walk about three minutes from Ishibutai bus stop to the tomb. Adult bus fares between the station’s east exit and Ishibutai are ¥440 each way, or ¥880 return. Check the return bus together with your onward train. The existing weekday timetable applies from September 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027; Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays use a separate timetable.

Visiting tips

Choose your outward and return buses together

If returning to Nara city, check the bus from Ishibutai to Kashiharajingumae Station’s east exit together with your onward train. Weekdays use a different bus timetable from Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Park parking is restricted in autumn 2026

The park parking area is reserved for bicycles and motorcycles from September 19 to November 15, 2026. If driving during this period, check the location and price of other parking areas. Outside these dates, follow the park’s information for your visit date.
