Admission
Worship at the ordinary main sanctuary worship area is free. The special main sanctuary visit, including the corridors and lanterns, costs ¥700. The National Treasure Hall and Manyo Botanical Garden charge separately.
Opening hours
The ordinary main sanctuary worship area opens 06:30–17:30 from March to October and 07:00–17:00 from November to February. The special main sanctuary visit runs 09:00–16:00. See the visitor information below for dates and times when ceremonies suspend it.

How to get to Kasugataisha Shrine
Kasugataisha Shrine is about a 25-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station. For bus access, take a Kasuga Taisha Honden-bound bus from JR Nara or Kintetsu Nara Station and get off at Kasuga Taisha Honden. The official three-minute walk from the stop ends at the botanical garden’s main gate and Kasuga Ninai-jaya. Allow extra time to walk to the main sanctuary and wait at the ordinary worship area.

Visiting tips
Check whether the special visit is available on your date
The special main sanctuary visit normally runs 09:00–16:00, but is suspended all day around March 8–13 and from December 20 to January 7. Other exceptions include morning suspensions on the 1st, 11th and 21st of each month and on official ceremony days. Events and ceremonies can change hours or cause temporary suspensions, so check your date’s notices. The ordinary worship area follows its own seasonal hours.
