Admission
General admission is ¥850; high-school students and younger enter free. During the orchid exhibition February 6–28, 2027, general admission is ¥1,700.
Opening hours
Open 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m. Closed December 27–January 1, plus separate maintenance dates. Maintenance dates include October 26 and November 30, 2026; check the full date-specific closure guidance.

How to get to The Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden
From JR Kochi Station, take MY Yu to Makino Shokubutsuen Seimon-mae and walk to the main gate. From the airport, take the airport shuttle bus and change to MY Yu. The airport shuttle does not reach the main gate. Garden paths include slopes, level changes and narrow sections.
