Tokushima’s ren dance groups move to drums, flutes and shamisen. Reserved performance grounds offer seated viewing, while street performances suit a more flexible evening on foot.

徳島市内演舞場・藍場浜演舞場周辺
Several performance venues lie south of Tokushima Station, including Aibahama. They have individual entrances and seats rather than one citywide parade route. The festival-eve concert is at Asty Tokushima, away from downtown.
The directions below use one representative location, not every venue entrance or the complete procession route. Use the official venue map for your ticket or programme.
Getting there by train or bus
Take the JR Kotoku Line from Takamatsu to Tokushima. Central performance grounds are within walking distance. The pre-festival performance at Asty Tokushima requires a separate journey.
Planning your visit
A seated programme is a useful introduction to the different dance groups. If you want to dance yourself, use the official participation programme rather than entering a performing group.
This is an editorial travel suggestion, not a claim of a personal visit or a guarantee of the programme. When travelling from Canada, use your Japan arrival date to select the festival day.
