Floats carrying large warrior figures travel through Mikuni’s old port streets. Compare the figures at the shrine gathering before following the town’s festival music and moving floats.

Where to watch
Sakai / Mikuni · 坂井・三国
Mikuni Shrine and the old streets of Mikuni
三國神社・三国旧市街
Mikuni Shrine and the old town are the main venues. Floats gather at the shrine but leave from and return to different neighborhoods.
The directions below use one representative location, not every venue entrance or the complete procession route. Use the official venue map for your ticket or programme.
Getting there by train or bus
From Fukui, take the Echizen Railway Mikuni-Awara Line to Mikuni-Jinja for the shrine or Mikuni for the old-town area.
Planning your visit
Check the main float-running day and shrine gathering time. A waterfront walk needs extra time beyond the shrine viewing stop.
This is an editorial travel suggestion, not a claim of a personal visit or a guarantee of the programme. When travelling from Canada, use your Japan arrival date to select the festival day.
