Admission
Individual admission costs ¥500 for adults, ¥300 for junior high and high school students, and ¥200 for elementary school students. Check separate conditions for main-house guided tours and paid activities.
Opening hours
April–November hours are 09:00–17:00. The tourist association and city list it as open year-round. December–March closing times differ between sources; ask the facility before visiting.

Garden, swords and weapons
Walk through the garden and explore the spaces displaying swords and weapons. Separate guided tours cover the main house, which is not usually open; check the conditions first if you want to enter it.
How to get to Kakunodate Aoyagi Samurai House
Follow the samurai district signs from Kakunodate Station to 角館町表町下丁3. The tourist association gives a walk of about 15 minutes and the city about 20 minutes. Check the route you will take and allow time accordingly.
Before you visit
Confirm winter closing with the house
For December–March, the tourist association lists closing at 16:30 and the city at 16:00. For a late-afternoon winter visit, ask Aoyagi for that day’s closing time.
