City, Kinko Bay and Sakurajima views
The viewpoint looks across Kagoshima city to Kinko Bay and Sakurajima. See the city and mountain on opposite sides of the bay.
How to get to Shiroyama Observatory
Take City View from East stand 4 at Kagoshima-Chuo Station to Shiroyama. Follow signs on foot from the stop to the viewpoint. For the nature trail, distinguish entrances such as Tanshoen near Terukuni Shrine and Iwasakidani near the Satsuma memorial. The full trail is about 2 km.

The full nature trail is about 2 km and covers a different section from a visit between the City View stop and viewpoint. Use signs on site to choose your entrance and walking route.

Returning to the station by City View
City View returns from Shiroyama to Kagoshima-Chuo via Sengan-en and the aquarium. Check which service you will board after viewing and the stops it passes before the station.

Must I walk the whole trail to reach Shiroyama Observatory?
No. Take City View to Shiroyama and visit just the viewpoint. This differs from walking the full roughly 2 km nature trail. Follow signs on site.
