Sendai Tanabata Festival

仙台七夕まつり

About the festival

Sendai Tanabata Festival decorates the shopping arcades with enormous paper streamers. Each shop's colors and ornaments are different, so this is a festival to explore on foot rather than wait for a parade.

Who is it for?

A relaxed city walk focused on decorative crafts rather than a moving procession.
