Where should I stay for a Chiba trip?
For a full day each at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu accommodation. For temple visits and Sawara’s old streets, consider staying near Narita Station. Choose Chiba Port Tower for harbour views in Chiba City, or a one-night Kamogawa course for orca performances and coastal sightseeing over two days.
Both parks are in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. Even when using Narita Airport, first choose between the parks, central Narita, Chiba City and Kamogawa to make accommodation planning easier.
Disney parks, temple approaches, old streets or the southern sea?
First choose a day at Disneyland or DisneySea, or walks around Naritasan and Sawara. Compare Port Tower for harbour views and Kamogawa for coast and aquarium together. These are different areas, so check admission, opening dates and access before allocating sightseeing days.
Itineraries by trip length
For a short trip, compare temple worship in Narita with one park; with more time, compare two parks or northern history and the southern coast. Open a course to see airport access and the journey back after sightseeing.
2 days / 1 night
Compare Narita course A for Omotesando meals and worship, or Disneyland course B if arrival-day park time remains.
3 days / 2 nights
Course A gives the full middle day to Sawara’s exhibition; B gives it to DisneySea. Choose final-day sightseeing around airport travel time.
4 days / 3 nights
Course A separates harbour, temple and calligraphy visits; B moves to Narita after Disneyland.
5 days / 4 nights
Course A gives each Disney park a day; B stays in Kamogawa after Sawara. Compare the final-night base and return sequence too.
Which station should I stay near?
Maihama and Shin-Urayasu
For a park day, compare accommodation using Maihama Station as your reference. Staying in Shin-Urayasu adds travel to the park entrance.
Check the route from your booked hotel to the park. If it has a shuttle, check dates, boarding points and the last service. Choose late sightseeing only if you can return within those hours.

JR Narita and Keisei Narita stations
Consider this area for worship along Omotesando, a Sawara trip or the night before departure from Narita Airport.
Distinguish station-area hotels from airport hotels. Whether an airport hotel’s shuttle also reaches Narita Station depends on the hotel.

Chiba Station and Chibaminato
This base suits meals in Chiba City with a Port Tower visit.
Port Tower is near Chibaminato Station. Allow transport from Chiba Station when choosing accommodation, rather than assuming every visit starts with a walk from there.
Awa-Kamogawa Station area
Choose this area for Sea World and another day in southern Chiba.
It suits a course that changes accommodation, rather than daily return trips to the parks and Narita Airport.
Coordinate Tokyo return travel and transport tickets first
Use Maihama for park travel from Tokyo
From Tokyo Station, take a JR Keiyo or Musashino Line service stopping at Maihama. Return on a Tokyo-bound service stopping there. Add the walk between other JR platforms and the Keiyo platforms at Tokyo Station to train times. If staying elsewhere in Tokyo, add travel from your accommodation to Tokyo Station.
Disneyland’s entrance is about five minutes’ walk from Maihama. For DisneySea, walk about two minutes to Resort Gateway Station, ride the Resort Line about nine minutes and walk about one minute from Tokyo DisneySea Station to the entrance. Add platform access, waits and entry queues. Check final return trains and hotel shuttles before planning your evening. For consecutive park days, also compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu accommodation.

Return travel differs for a Kamogawa day trip and overnight stay
From Tokyo, connect a Wakashio stopping at Awa-Kamogawa with the station’s free shuttle to Sea World. Reach the west exit shuttle stop using the connecting passage’s stairs. The roughly 10-minute shuttle ride excludes train and bus waits and Tokyo accommodation access. Choose a day trip only after matching viewing and performance times with the return shuttle and limited express.
Four-night course B stays in Kamogawa and visits Sea World the next day, separating the arrival-day coast walk from the aquarium. Coordinate your visit and return shuttle with the Tokyo-bound limited express and JR connection to Narita. This course moves to new accommodation in Narita rather than returning to a Tokyo hotel.
Wakashio does not accept an unreserved-seat limited express ticket. Reserve a seat when your departure time is fixed, as in this course. With a seat-undesignated ticket, you must move from an empty seat if its reserved passenger arrives; it does not secure a reserved seat.

Calculate JR passes, Resort Line and Keisei separately
The adult JR TOKYO Wide Pass costs 16,000 yen for three consecutive days from your chosen start date. Listed routes include JR East and Tokyo Monorail, but exclude Keisei, Disney Resort Line and Chiba Urban Monorail. You need your original passport issued outside Japan; eligibility does not require Temporary Visitor status. Park admission is separate from JR travel.
The Keisei airport return subtotal for one-night course A, limited to central Narita, is not comparable to a trip using the Kamogawa limited express and multiple JR routes. On three- or four-night trips, the pass still covers only three consecutive days. Total individual fares for the actual days and routes before comparing. A subway ticket alone does not reach JR Maihama or Kamogawa. Hotel shuttles are not automatically included in a rail pass.

Transport, costs, meals and related guides
Plan arrival and departure days around your airport
Allow immigration, luggage collection and accommodation access before choosing first-day sightseeing. After a late arrival, eat and rest. On departure day, work backwards from your airline’s required airport arrival time, allowing trains, transfers and terminal access. If leaving bags at your accommodation, check storage and collection availability and add travel back there. With an early flight, leave without final-day sightseeing.
Plan arrival and departure days around your airport →Separate park admission from Resort Line fares
Costs are for one adult. Two-night course B starts at 9,920 yen: DisneySea one-day minimum 8,900 yen, Port Tower 420 yen and two Resort Line rides 600 yen. Four-night course A starts at 18,400 yen: the two parks’ individual minimum tickets total 17,800 yen, plus 600 yen for the Resort Line on DisneySea day. Actual dated tickets may cost more. Other courses exclude Resort Line fares. JR, airport travel, hotel shuttles, extra rides, meals, accommodation and separate paid activities are also excluded. These prices were checked on October 8, 2026.
Separate park admission from Resort Line fares →Calligraphy museum admission depends on your date
Three-night course A adds Port Tower 420 yen and Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum 500 yen to calligraphy museum admission. The total is 1,420 yen through October 12, 2026, when calligraphy admission is 500 yen, and 1,720 yen from October 20, when it is 800 yen. The official calendar lists October 13–19 as closed; omit the museum on closure dates. JR, monorail, airport and accommodation travel, meals and accommodation cost extra.
Calligraphy museum admission depends on your date →Compare the routes covered by JR passes
A Tokyo subway sightseeing ticket alone does not cover travel to the parks or southern Chiba. JR, Keisei, the Resort Line and limited expresses have different coverage. Compare routes using the Japan transport and JR pass guides. For one airport–city return trip, total individual fares before comparing a regional pass.
Compare the routes covered by JR passes →Choose an eel restaurant on Narita Omotesando
Narita Omotesando has eel restaurants. For grilled eel with rice, allow mealtime before or after worship. Restaurant hours, prices and queues differ from temple opening hours. Omotesando information was checked on October 8, 2026.
Choose an eel restaurant on Narita Omotesando →Camera outside Naritasan’s main hall
The camera shows the space outside the main hall. It does not show restaurant queues along all of Omotesando or train services at Narita Station. Check the temple’s official camera for broadcast availability. Camera information was checked on October 8, 2026.
Camera outside Naritasan’s main hall →Chiba areas to explore a day at a time
Chiba Prefecture · 千葉県
First choose a day at a park, temple approaches and old streets, or an overnight stay on the southern coast. These areas use different stations and directions of travel. Rather than fitting them all into one day, compare attractions and courses for the areas that interest you.
Maihama · 舞浜: a day for each park
Disneyland and DisneySea share a resort but have different entrances and routes. Walk about five minutes from Maihama Station to Disneyland; for DisneySea, take the Resort Line before walking to the entrance. Four-night course A gives each park a day. Choose arrival-day Disneyland in one-night course B only if sightseeing time remains after travel.
Official Disney rail accessOfficial dated Disney ticket prices
Ikspiari for a Maihama day without park admission
On an arrival day without a park visit, choose meals or shopping at Ikspiari near Maihama Station. Keep this separate from dated Disneyland and DisneySea tickets. Shops, restaurants and the cinema have individual hours and costs; after a late arrival, first check the places you actually want to use.
Narita · 成田: temple approaches and exhibitions
Walk Omotesando from Narita Station to Naritasan and eat along the way. Allow time for a meal before or after worship if you want an eel restaurant. The calligraphy museum lies further inside the park, extending the walk beyond the temple visit. Check opening days and split the exhibition and worship across different days, as in three-night course A.

Sawara · 佐原: the museum and riverside
Take JR from Narita to Sawara for Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum and the Onogawa River. The museum is about 15 minutes’ walk from Sawara Station; leave time after the exhibition for riverside walking and a meal. Return to Sawara Station for a Narita-bound train afterwards. Compare two-night course A, a day trip while staying in Narita, with four-night course B, which continues to a southern overnight stay.
Chibaminato · 千葉みなと: harbour views
For Port Tower, head towards Chibaminato rather than treating Chiba Station as the walking start. From Chiba Station, take the Urban Monorail to Chibaminato and walk about 12 minutes to the tower. Return to the same station after visiting the deck. Choose departure-day sightseeing in two-night course B only with ample airport time; for longer at the harbour, see day one of three-night course A.
DirectionsChiba Urban Monorail routes and directional timetables
Kamogawa · 鴨川: coast and aquarium across two days
Compare a Kamogawa overnight course for a night by the southern sea and orca performances. Walk the coast on arrival day and visit the aquarium the next day. Maebara–Yokosuka Coast is about five minutes’ walk from Awa-Kamogawa Station; Sea World is about 10 minutes on the west exit free shuttle. Allow separate travel time for the station-to-coast walk and the west exit shuttle to the aquarium.
Directions from your actual departure station
Check your starting point using your travel date and accommodation address. Walking times below start at the stations specified by facilities and exclude train and bus waits, transfers, meals and sightseeing. Compare map routes with the entrance and dated restrictions, then recheck timetables and fares with the operator.

Frequently asked questions
Can I stay in Tokyo for a Disney trip?
Yes, if your accommodation allows travel to and from Maihama. Disney Resort is in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, so allow for travel and transfers after closing. For consecutive visits to both parks, also compare bases in Maihama and Shin-Urayasu.
Do I take the Skyliner from Narita Airport to Naritasan?
Choose a train stopping at Keisei Narita or JR Narita for Naritasan. The Skyliner runs towards Nippori and Ueno, so it does not provide the same journey to central Narita accommodation or the temple. Select your terminal and destination station to check fares and timetables for your date.
