Chiba Port Tower, Naritasan and Sawara

Choose this for Chiba harbour views plus temple visits and exhibitions in Narita and Sawara. Stay only the first night in Chiba before moving to Narita. The final-day calligraphy exhibition is optional when opening dates and your flight allow.

Day 1: Chiba City and Port Tower

From Narita Airport, take a JR service stopping at Chiba Station. From Haneda, travel via Tokyo Station on a Chiba-bound Sobu Line rapid. If stopping at your accommodation first, add the journey to your hotel.

    From Narita, confirm the actual stops of your Chiba JR service. From Haneda, use Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, JR to Tokyo Station, then a Chiba-bound Sobu Line rapid. Immigration, baggage and transfer time are extra.

  2. Chiba Station → Chibaminato Station

    Take a Chibaminato-bound Chiba Urban Monorail and alight there. Chiba and Chibaminato are different stations.

    Walk about 12 minutes from the station to Port Tower. This excludes travel from Chiba Station and train waits.

    Adult admission is 420 yen. Look over Chiba’s harbour and Tokyo Bay from the deck. Cloudy weather may obscure distant mountains and buildings.

    After visiting, return to the station along the same route. For extra walks nearby, first allow for your return train and next journey.

    Return on a Chiba-bound monorail. From Chiba Station, follow your hotel’s actual access route.

Port Tower opens June–September 09:00–21:00; October–May weekdays 09:00–19:00 and weekends/public holidays 09:00–20:00. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Regular closures are normally the fourth Monday of even-numbered months and December 28–31; check the official annual calendar for your date. Omit the deck during regular or temporary closures, including strong winds.

Day 2: Naritasan and Omotesando

Check out of your Chiba accommodation and move to Narita today. If visiting the new accommodation first, add that travel time before worship.

    Walk along Omotesando’s shopping street to the Somon gate. Omotesando extends about 800 metres from the station area; reaching the main hall requires further travel from the gate.

    Follow the steps and slopes through the grounds to the Main Hall. To avoid stairs, check elevator locations in the official grounds map and availability for your date first.

  4. Main Hall → Worship and explore the grounds

    After worship, explore around the main hall. Buildings and reception desks have different hours; if arriving late, visit only open areas. Separate activities such as prayer services and sutra copying are excluded.

  5. Main Hall → Somon gate and Omotesando

    Retrace the path through the grounds to the Somon gate and Omotesando. For a meal, choose an eel restaurant or other shop after checking hours and queues. Temple hours do not apply to restaurants.

    Return along Omotesando to the station area. Allow time beyond walking if adding street browsing and meals.

Day 3: Sawara exhibitions and old streets

Make a return day trip from Narita to Sawara. See maps and surveying records at the museum, then walk by the river and return to Narita.

    Walk about 15 minutes from the station to the museum. Choose this for old-street walks combined with exhibitions.

    Adult admission costs 500 yen. Explore surveying tools and records used to map Japan. Hours are 09:00–16:30; official guidance recommends entry by around 16:00.

    After the displays, walk among shops and along the Onogawa river, allowing time for a meal. Sightseeing boats and meals are excluded from this course.

    Return to the station along the same route. Allow time for street browsing and meals beyond the museum-to-station walk.

    Return on a Narita-bound train stopping at Narita. Check departure intervals and reach the station in time for your train; you can choose dinner around Narita Station after returning.

The museum closes Mondays, the next weekday when Monday is a public holiday, and December 29–January 1. On closure days, omit exhibitions and walk the old streets, or stay in Narita for the day. In heavy rain, shorten riverside walks and reach the station for your return train.

Day 4: calligraphy exhibition, then Narita Airport

Choose this if interested in the exhibition and departing in the afternoon with plenty of time. Include the round-trip walk and airport transfer when deciding.

    Walk about 25 minutes from the station to the museum. This requires a longer round-trip walk than the nearby Tourist Pavilion.

  3. Calligraphy museum → Narita Station area

    Retrace the route for about 25 minutes to the station area. If your accommodation holds luggage, collect it first, then go to JR or Keisei Narita Station for the airport train. Check the extra accommodation journey and luggage collection hours with your booked hotel.

  5. Airport railway station where you alight → Your departure terminal

    For Terminal 3, use the connecting walkway or free shuttle from Terminal 2. Allow for train waits and terminal transfers to arrive at the time specified by your airline. Airport guidance gives station-to-terminal walks of about five minutes for Terminals 1 and 2 and 10 minutes for Terminal 3. These are not total times including trains, waits and departure procedures.

Closed Mondays (the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday), during exhibition changeovers and at year-end. The official October 2026 calendar marks October 13–19 as closed. Omit the exhibition during closures or when airport time is tight.

Disneyland, then one Narita night

Choose this to rest beside the station on arrival and spend a full day at Disneyland on day two. Stay two Maihama nights and one Narita night, then combine temple visits and departure.

Day 1: meals and shopping in Maihama

On arrival day, rest at Ikspiari without entering a park. If stopping at your accommodation first, add the journey from Maihama Station to your hotel.

    Take Tokyo Monorail to its Hamamatsucho terminus. Add terminal-to-platform access and waiting time to the train ride.

    Change to the JR Yamanote Line towards Tokyo and alight at Tokyo Station. From Narita Airport, use a Narita Express stopping at Tokyo, then continue with the next step.

    Walk to the JR Keiyo/Musashino Line platforms and take a train stopping at Maihama. Allow separately for the walk between Tokyo Station’s other JR lines and the Keiyo platforms.

    Go to Ikspiari beside the station. It suits meals or shopping on a day without park entry.

    Choose restaurants and shops for a break. Facility hours are 10:00–22:30; individual shops have their own hours. No park ticket is needed; meals, shopping and cinema visits cost extra according to your purchases.

    After eating or shopping, use the exit towards the station. To reach your accommodation, follow your booked hotel’s walking route or shuttle boarding point.

Day 2: a full Disneyland day

With travel completed, spend today on Disneyland attractions and shows. Group nearby rides around your priority show times, adding meals and breaks.

    Walk about five minutes from the station to the Disneyland entrance. Allow separately for travel from your accommodation to Maihama and entry queues.

  3. Around World Bazaar → Fantasyland and your chosen areas

    Check transport back to your accommodation before choosing a final show or attraction. As your return time approaches, head towards the exit and finish shopping within that time.

    Walk back along the entrance route to Maihama Station. For accommodation in Tokyo, take a Tokyo-bound JR train stopping at Tokyo; for nearby hotels, use your hotel’s walking route or shuttle.

Check opening and closing times, ticket sales and your chosen facilities for the date. Allow plenty of park time; if staying until closing, check the last JR train or hotel shuttle too.

Day 3: move to Narita for worship

Check out in Maihama and travel to Narita. Allow for the walk between platforms at Tokyo Station and access to your new accommodation before worship.

If time remains before departure, see festival floats at Narita Tourist Pavilion. Omit the visit and head to the airport if it is closed or transfer time is tight.

Yes. Stay two Maihama nights for a full Disneyland day, then move to Narita the next day for temple worship and Omotesando meals. This suits a final night near central stations before flying from Narita Airport. At Tokyo Station, transfer towards the Sobu Line, then connect at Chiba to the Narita Line, or choose a through Narita service.
