Choose this option for Chiba's port views and temples and exhibits in Narita and Sawara. Stay only the first night in Chiba, then move to Narita. The final-day calligraphy visit is optional when opening dates and your flight timing allow.

Day 1 · Central Chiba and Port Tower

From Narita Airport, take a JR service stopping at Chiba Station. From Haneda, you can travel via Tokyo Station on a Chiba-bound Sobu Line rapid service. Add travel to your specific hotel if you stop there first.

    Walk about 12 minutes from the station to Port Tower. Travel starting at Chiba Station and train waiting are not included in this walk.

    Adult admission is ¥420. Look over Chiba's port and Tokyo Bay from the observation deck. Clouds may obscure distant mountains and buildings.

Port Tower opens 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. June–September; October–May, it opens 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. weekends and public holidays. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Regular closures are generally the fourth Monday of even-numbered months and December 28–31; check your date on the official annual closure calendar. Skip the deck on regular or temporary closure days, including strong-wind closures.

Day 2 · Naritasan and Omotesando

Leave your Chiba hotel and move to Narita today. If you need to stop at the new hotel, add that time before the temple visit.

    Go up the grounds' stairs and slopes to the Great Main Hall. If you need to avoid stairs, check elevator locations on the official grounds map and their availability for your visit first.

  5. Great Main Hall → Somon gate and Omotesando

Day 3 · Sawara exhibits and historic streets

Make a day trip from Narita to Sawara. See maps and surveying materials at the museum, then walk beside the river before returning to Narita.

The museum closes Mondays, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday, and December 29–January 1. On a closure day, skip the exhibits for a historic-street walk or stay in Narita. In heavy rain, shorten the riverside walk and reach the station for your return train.

Day 4 · Calligraphy exhibits, then Narita Airport

Choose this visit if the exhibition interests you and an afternoon flight leaves enough time. Include the round-trip walk and airport journey in your decision.

  3. Calligraphy Museum → Near Narita Station

    Retrace the roughly 25-minute walk toward the station. If you left luggage at your hotel, collect it first, then go to JR Narita or Keisei-Narita Station for the airport train. Ask your booked hotel about the detour time and when luggage pickup is available.

    For Terminal 3, continue from Terminal 2 via the connecting walkway or free shuttle. Allow train waiting and terminal travel to meet your airline's check-in arrival time. The airport lists walks from the station of about five minutes for Terminals 1 and 2 and about 10 minutes for Terminal 3. These are not total journey times including the train, waiting, and departure procedures.

The museum closes Mondays, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday. It also closes for exhibition changes and at year-end. The official October 2026 calendar marks October 13–19 as closed. Skip the exhibits on closure days or when airport connections are tight.

Disneyland, then a night in Narita

Choose this option to rest near the station on arrival day and devote the second day to Disneyland. Spend two nights in Maihama and one in Narita, combining the temple visit with departure.

    Go to the JR Keiyo or Musashino Line platforms and take a service stopping at Maihama. Walking between other JR lines and the Keiyo platforms at Tokyo Station takes additional time.

Day 2 · A full day at Disneyland

With arrival travel finished, devote today to Disneyland's attractions and shows. Plan nearby rides around the shows you want to see, with meals and rests in between.

Day 3 · Move to Narita for a temple visit
