Choose Chiba attractions for your travel plans
Go to Urayasu for a day at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea, or Narita for the temple approach and an eel meal. Compare Sawara for historic streets and surveying exhibits, or Chiba Port Tower for harbor views. For southern coastal scenery and the aquarium, consider a night in Kamogawa. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple
成田山新勝寺
For a temple visit and an eel meal in Narita, combine Naritasan with Omotesando. The approach from the station is about 800 meters, followed by stairs and slopes from Somon gate to the main hall. Separate activities such as prayer ceremonies and sutra copying, and souvenirs, are excluded from itinerary costs.
- HoursThe main hall, reception counters, and restaurants have different hours. For a late-evening arrival, schedule the indoor temple visit the next day.
- Getting thereFrom JR Narita or Keisei-Narita Station, follow Omotesando to Somon gate.

Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum
伊能忠敬記念館
For how Japan was mapped, see surveying tools and materials at the Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum. Afterward, walk beside Sawara's river to explore the historic streets. If the streets interest you more than exhibits, choose just the riverside walk.
- AdmissionAdmission is ¥500 for adults and ¥250 for elementary and junior high school students.
- HoursThe museum opens 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Official guidance recommends admission by around 4:00 p.m. It closes Mondays, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday. It also closes December 29–January 1.
- Getting thereThe museum at 1722-1 Sawara I, Katori is about a 15-minute walk from JR Sawara Station. Combine it with the streets around the Ono River.
Chiba Port Tower
千葉ポートタワー
Choose the observation deck for views over Chiba's port, or nearby Port Park for an outdoor walk without tower admission. Cloudy weather reduces distant views.
- AdmissionAdmission is ¥420 for adults and ¥200 for elementary and junior high school students. Children below elementary school age enter free.
- HoursThe tower opens 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. in June–September. In October–May, it opens 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. weekends and public holidays. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. It generally closes on the fourth Monday of even-numbered months and December 28–31. Dates can differ by year; check the official annual closure calendar. Strong winds may also close the tower.
- Getting thereThe tower is about a 12-minute walk from Chibaminato Station. The official guide lists only one morning bus from Chiba Station on weekends and public holidays. For other times, check the walk from Chibaminato.
Tokyo Disneyland

Devote a day to Disneyland for rides from Disney stories and parades. Visiting after arrival day leaves more time in the park. If ride lines grow long, take a break with a show or a walk through the park's streets.
- AdmissionA date- and park-specific one-day ticket starts at ¥8,900 for adults, ¥7,400 for ages 12–17, and ¥5,300 for ages 4–11. Check the calendar for your actual visit-date price.

- Getting thereThe park entrance is about a five-minute walk from JR Maihama Station. A Shin-Urayasu hotel requires additional hotel-shuttle travel or a train to Maihama.

Tokyo DisneySea

Walk streets with ports and canals and enjoy sea- and adventure-themed rides. Give DisneySea its own day for both attractions and port scenery. If visiting Disneyland too, prepare a ticket for each park's specific date.
- AdmissionA date- and park-specific one-day ticket starts at ¥8,900 for adults, ¥7,400 for ages 12–17, and ¥5,300 for ages 4–11. Select DisneySea and your visit date for the actual price. A Disneyland one-day ticket is not a combined ticket for both parks.
- Hours and reservationsCheck date-specific hours and facility closures. Separately paid services are excluded from the one-day ticket cost table.
- Getting thereWalk about two minutes from JR Maihama Station to Resort Gateway Station. Ride the Resort Line for about nine minutes to Tokyo DisneySea Station, then walk about one minute to the park entrance. Waiting, platform access, and admission lines take additional time. An adult Resort Line ride is ¥300; two rides on this round trip total ¥600, which is ¥100 less than the ¥700 day pass.

Kamogawa Sea World

Choose Kamogawa Sea World for orca jumps and dolphin shows. Plan around the shows you want to see, with aquarium exhibits between them. Weather and animal conditions may change performances; check your date's program.
- AdmissionAdmission is ¥3,300 for visitors of high school age and older, ¥2,000 for elementary and junior high school students, and ¥1,300 for preschool children ages four and older. Regular shows are included; additional activities are separate.
- HoursHours vary by date; check the official operating calendar. Ticket sales end one hour before closing.
- Getting thereTake Wakashio limited express from Tokyo Station to Awa-Kamogawa, then transfer to the free shuttle. The shuttle ride takes about 10 minutes, with schedules varying by date. Add train and shuttle waiting and travel from your hotel to the station separately.

Browse shops and eat in front of Maihama Station. Stop briefly on arrival day without entering a park, or on a day with a late flight.
- AdmissionShopping, meals, movies, and other purchases are paid separately as used. This is not an area requiring a Disney park ticket.
- HoursThe complex opens 10:00 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Individual shops and restaurants have different hours.
- Getting thereIkspiari is directly in front of JR Maihama Station's south exit.
Narita Tourist Pavilion

For Narita's festival floats, stop at the pavilion along your Omotesando walk. Exhibits are free; reach the upper-floor float displays by stairs or elevator. See the selection conditions below for elevator restrictions.

- HoursThe pavilion opens 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. It closes Mondays and December 29–31; for public holidays or a run of holidays, check the official following closure date.
- Getting thereThe pavilion is about a 10-minute walk along Omotesando from JR Narita or Keisei-Narita Station.
- Selection conditionsTemporary notice: air conditioning and the elevator are unavailable October 1–November 30, 2026 because of equipment work. Use stairs for the upper-floor float exhibits during this period. If stairs are difficult for you, visit only first-floor tourist information or skip the pavilion. After the work period, check the official notice again for availability on your date.

Naritasan Museum of Calligraphy
成田山書道美術館
For brush calligraphy as well as the temple, leave time for Naritasan Museum of Calligraphy. A departure-day visit needs enough time for the walk from the station and back, exhibits, and airport travel.
- AdmissionGeneral admission is ¥500 through October 12, 2026 and ¥800 from October 20. The official calendar lists October 13–19, 2026 as closed.
- HoursThe museum opens 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m. Check the official calendar for Monday closures, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday, exhibition changes, and year-end closures.
- Getting thereThe museum is about a 25-minute walk from JR Narita or Keisei-Narita Station. Add hotel access, exhibits, waiting, and airport travel separately from the 50-minute round-trip walk.
- Selection conditionsThese calligraphy exhibits are separate from temple worship. On departure day, choose them only if the roughly 50-minute station round-trip walk, viewing, and airport travel all fit.

Maebara Yokosuka Beach
前原・横渚海岸
For a coastal walk in Kamogawa, go to Maebara and Yokosuka Beach near the station. Walk the coast on arrival day and visit Sea World the next day. Skip the walk during high waves or access restrictions.
- Getting thereThe beach is about a five-minute walk from JR Awa-Kamogawa Station. Travel from your hotel to the station and time at the coast are additional.
Frequently asked questions
Can you combine Sawara's museum and riverside?
Walk about 15 minutes from Sawara Station to the Ino Tadataka Museum, then eat near the Ono River and walk along the riverside. The museum closes Mondays, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday. In heavy rain, shorten the visit with the station walk in mind.
Can you use the elevator at Narita Tourist Pavilion?
Check the official access-restriction notice for your date first. When the elevator is out of service, stairs are required for the upper-floor float exhibits. If stairs are difficult for you, visit only the first-floor information area or skip the pavilion. Compare the construction dates in its selection conditions with your visit.
