Naritasan Shinshoji Temple

For a temple visit and eel meal in Narita, explore Naritasan and Omotesando together. The approach from the station is about 800 metres, followed by stairs and slopes from the main gate to the hall. Separate activities such as prayer services and sutra copying, and souvenirs, are excluded from itinerary costs.
- HoursThe main hall, service counters and restaurants have different hours. If arriving late in the evening, plan the indoor temple visit for the next day.
- DirectionsFrom JR or Keisei Narita Station, follow Omotesando to the main gate.

Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum

For an insight into how Japan was mapped, see surveying tools and materials at Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum. Afterwards, explore Sawara's riverside old streets. If you prefer the streets to the exhibition, choose just the riverside walk.
- AdmissionAdmission costs JPY 500 for adults and JPY 250 for primary and junior high school students.
- HoursThe museum opens from 9 am to 4.30 pm; official guidance recommends arriving by about 4 pm. It closes on Mondays, on the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday, and from 29 December to 1 January.
- DirectionsWalk about 15 minutes from JR Sawara Station to the museum, then explore nearby Onogawa streets. The museum's address is 1722-1 Sawara I, Katori.
Chiba Port Tower
千葉ポートタワー
Choose the observation deck for views over Chiba harbour or nearby Port Park for an outdoor walk without admission. Cloudy weather limits distant views.
- AdmissionDeck admission costs JPY 420 for adults and JPY 200 for primary and junior high school students; preschool children are free.
- HoursPort Tower opens from 9 am to 9 pm from June to September. From October to May, it opens from 9 am to 7 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 8 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Standard closures are the fourth Monday of even-numbered months and 28–31 December. Dates may differ by year, so check the official annual calendar for your visit. Strong winds may also cause closure.
- DirectionsThe tower is about 12 minutes on foot from Chiba-Minato Station. Official information lists only one morning bus from Chiba Station on weekends and public holidays. For other times, check the walk from Chiba-Minato.
Tokyo Disneyland

Give Disneyland a full day for attractions based on Disney stories and its parades. Visiting the day after arrival leaves more park time than arrival day itself. If ride queues grow, take a break with a performance or a walk through the streets.
- AdmissionA date-and-park-specific 1-Day Passport starts at JPY 8,900 for adults, JPY 7,400 for ages 12–17 and JPY 5,300 for ages 4–11. Check the calendar for your actual date's price.
- Hours and bookingsSelect your date in the official operating calendar. Ticket quantities are limited by date; check each attraction's closures and boarding restrictions separately.
- DirectionsWalk about five minutes from JR Maihama Station to the entrance. Staying in Shin-Urayasu adds a hotel shuttle or train journey to Maihama.

Tokyo DisneySea

Walk through harbour and canal streets and enjoy attractions themed around the sea and adventure. Give DisneySea its own day if you want harbour scenery as well as rides. If also visiting Disneyland, prepare a ticket for each park's visit date.

- Hours and bookingsCheck date-specific hours and attraction closures. Separate paid services are excluded from the 1-Day Passport cost table.
- DirectionsWalk about two minutes from JR Maihama to Resort Gateway Station. Ride the Resort Line for about nine minutes to Tokyo DisneySea Station, then walk about one minute to the entrance. Allow extra time for waits, platforms and admission queues. An ordinary adult single ride costs JPY 300; two rides total JPY 600, which is JPY 100 less than the JPY 700 day pass for a simple return trip.

Kamogawa Sea World

Choose Kamogawa Sea World for orca jumps and dolphin performances. Pick the shows you want to see first, then visit aquarium exhibits between them. Performances may change with weather or animal conditions, so check your date's programme.
- AdmissionOne-day admission costs JPY 3,300 for high school students and older, JPY 2,000 for primary and junior high school students, and JPY 1,300 for preschool children aged four and older. Regular performances are included; extra activities are separate.
- HoursHours vary by date. Check the official operating calendar for your visit; ticket sales end one hour before closing.
- DirectionsTake Wakashio limited express from Tokyo to Awa-Kamogawa, then change to the free shuttle. The shuttle ride takes about 10 minutes and departures vary by date. Allow extra time for train and shuttle waits and reaching the station from your hotel.
IKSPIARI

Browse shops and eat in front of Maihama Station. This suits a short visit on arrival day or before a late flight when you are not entering a park.
- AdmissionShopping, meals and films are paid separately as used. This area does not require a Disney park ticket.
- HoursFacility hours are 10 am–10.30 pm. Individual shops and restaurants have their own hours.
- DirectionsIKSPIARI is directly outside JR Maihama Station's south exit.
Narita Tourist Pavilion
成田観光館
For Narita's festival floats, stop at the Tourist Pavilion while walking Omotesando. Displays are free, with stairs or a lift to the upper-floor floats. See the visiting conditions below for lift restrictions.
- AdmissionAdmission is free.
- HoursThe pavilion opens from 9 am to 5 pm. It closes on Mondays and from 29 to 31 December; check the official subsequent closure date for public holidays and consecutive holidays.
- DirectionsThe pavilion is about 10 minutes on foot along Omotesando from JR or Keisei Narita Station.
- Visiting conditionsTemporary notice: air conditioning and the lift are unavailable during equipment work from 1 October to 30 November 2026. Upstairs float exhibits require stairs during this period. If stairs are difficult, use only the tourist information on Level 1 or skip the visit. After the work period, recheck official notices for your date's availability.

Naritasan Museum of Calligraphy
成田山書道美術館
Allow time for Naritasan Museum of Calligraphy if you want brush-written works alongside a temple visit. For a departure-day visit, you need enough time for the return walk from the stations, exhibition and airport journey.
- AdmissionStandard admission is JPY 500 until 12 October 2026 and JPY 800 from 20 October. The official calendar marks 13–19 October 2026 as closed.
- HoursThe calligraphy museum opens from 9 am to 4 pm, with last admission at 3.30 pm. It closes on Mondays, or the next weekday if Monday is a public holiday; check the official calendar for exhibition-change and year-end closures.
- DirectionsThe calligraphy museum is about 25 minutes on foot from JR or Keisei Narita Station. Beyond the 50-minute return walk, allow time for hotel access, exhibitions, waits and airport travel.
- Visiting conditionsThis calligraphy exhibition is separate from temple worship. Choose it on departure day only if you have time for the roughly 50-minute return walk from the stations, exhibition and airport journey.

Maebara and Yokosuka Coast
Maebara Yokosuka Beach前原・横渚海岸
For a seaside walk in Kamogawa, visit Maebara and Yokosuka Coast near the station. Walk the coast on arrival day and visit Sea World the next day. Skip the walk during high waves or access restrictions.
- DirectionsThe coast is about five minutes on foot from JR Awa-Kamogawa Station. Add hotel-to-station travel and time spent by the coast separately.
Frequently asked questions
Can I visit Sawara's museum and riverside together?
Walk about 15 minutes from Sawara Station to Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum, then eat and walk by Onogawa. The museum closes Mondays or the next weekday if a public holiday. In heavy rain, shorten the visit while considering the walk back to the station.
Can I use the lift at Narita Tourist Pavilion?
Check official restriction notices for your date first. When the lift is stopped, stairs are needed for upstairs float exhibits. If stairs are difficult, use only the information area on Level 1 or skip the visit. See the pavilion's visiting conditions for the work period and compare it with your date.
