A short trip: Narita's temple or Disneyland?

Stay near Narita Station for a temple visit and Omotesando meal. For Disneyland on arrival day, compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu accommodation. You need a flight that leaves park time after travelling from the airport to Maihama, plus a ticket for your visit date.

Temple visits and meals in Narita

Choose this short trip when flying through Narita Airport and wanting separate time for the local exhibition, temple and Omotesando meals. It does not travel to the Disney parks or southern Chiba.

Day 1: Narita Tourist Pavilion and Omotesando

Travel from the airport into Narita city, see the festival floats at the Tourist Pavilion and eat along Omotesando. If arriving late or on a closure day, skip the exhibition and enjoy the streets and a meal instead.

  1. Narita Airport railway station → Keisei Narita or JR Narita Station

Choose a train that stops at Narita Station in the city. This differs from Skyliner services towards Nippori and Ueno. If arriving at Terminal 3, first go to the railway station at Terminal 2. Airport hotels and accommodation near Narita Station are in different locations.

    Narita Airport rail guideSkyliner stops

  2. Around JR and Keisei Narita stations → Narita Tourist Pavilion

Walk about 10 minutes along Omotesando to the pavilion. See the float displays, then return towards the station. Allow separate time for a temple visit, which involves walking further to the main hall.

    Access and name reference

  3. Tourist Pavilion entrance → Tourist information and festival floats

Browse local information on Level 1, then see festival floats upstairs. Admission is free. Before going upstairs, check official notices for lift availability on your visit date. If stairs are difficult and the lift is unavailable, stay on Level 1.

  4. Narita Tourist Pavilion → Around Narita Station

After visiting, return along Omotesando. The walk to the station takes about 10 minutes; allow extra time for meals, queues and reaching your accommodation.

    Access and name reference

See the attraction information for pavilion opening dates and lift restrictions. Restaurant hours and queues vary by business.

Day 2: Naritasan temple visit, then the airport

If you have plenty of time before departure, visit the temple before travelling to the airport.

  1. Around JR and Keisei Narita stations → Along Omotesando to Naritasan's main gate

Walk through Omotesando's shopping street to the main gate. Omotesando extends about 800 metres from the station area, with further walking from the gate to the main hall.

  2. Naritasan main gate → Great Main Hall

Follow the stairs and slopes through the grounds to the Great Main Hall. If you need to avoid stairs, first check lift locations on the official grounds map and their availability for your date.

  7. Airport railway station where you arrive → Your departure terminal

For Terminal 3, use the connecting walkway or free shuttle from Terminal 2. Allow for train waits and terminal transfers to meet your airline's check-in arrival time. Airport guidance gives about five minutes' walking from the station to Terminal 1 or 2, and about 10 minutes to Terminal 3. These are not total journey times including trains, waits or departure procedures.

Work backwards from your airline's required airport arrival time. For an early flight, go straight to the airport and move the temple visit to day one.

Subtotal of checked paid items: Keisei airport return only: JPY 560 with paper tickets or JPY 544 with IC fares

Included: These are ordinary adult fares for one journey each way on the Keisei Main Line between Narita Airport or Airport Terminal 2 and Keisei Narita. The total doubles the one-way JPY 280 paper or JPY 272 IC fare. Tourist Pavilion admission is free; this is not a confirmed total for every temple admission or activity.

Extras and conditions: JR, departures from Haneda, buses, hotel shuttles, taxis, luggage storage, prayer services, sutra copying, souvenirs, meals, accommodation and flights are separate. This is not the total trip cost.

The fare table linked by Keisei Narita Station's official search is dated 1 April 2025 and was rechecked on 9 October 2026. Look up fares, stopping services and timetables for your travel date. If choosing JR, Haneda, buses or hotel shuttles, check costs for your actual route and its conditions separately.

Is arrival day long enough for Disneyland?

Immigration, airport travel and reaching your hotel reduce park time. Prepare a ticket for the correct date and park, then calculate entry time from your actual flight. Compare the two-day arrival-day park itinerary for a shorter visit, or the four-day itinerary that rests on arrival and gives day two to the park.
