Which city should you use as your Chiba base?
For a full day each at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, compare accommodation in Maihama and Shin-Urayasu. For temple visits and Sawara's old streets, look near Narita Station. Choose Chiba Port Tower for harbour views in Chiba city, or an overnight Kamogawa trip for orca performances and a coastal walk over two days.
Both Disney parks are in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. Even if flying through Narita Airport, choose which areas you want to visit first: the parks, Narita city, central Chiba or Kamogawa. That makes it easier to choose where to stay.
Parks, temple approaches, old streets or the southern coast?
First choose a day at Disneyland or DisneySea, or Naritasan and Sawara street walks. Compare Port Tower for harbour views and Kamogawa for the coast and aquarium together. These are different areas: check each attraction's prices, opening days and access, then allocate separate sightseeing days.
Itineraries by trip length
For a short trip, compare Narita temple visits with one park. Longer trips allow both parks or northern history and the southern coast. Open a preferred itinerary for airport access and the return steps after sightseeing.
2 days / 1 night
Choose Narita A for Omotesando meals and worship, or Disneyland B if arrival day leaves park time.
3 days / 2 nights
Spend a full second day on Sawara's exhibitions in A or DisneySea in B. Choose final-day sightseeing around your airport journey.
4 days / 3 nights
A separates harbour, temple and calligraphy visits. B visits Disneyland before moving to Narita.
5 days / 4 nights
A gives Disneyland and DisneySea a day each; B visits Sawara before an overnight Kamogawa stay. Compare the final night's location and return steps.
Which station should you stay near?
Maihama and Shin-Urayasu
For a day at a Disney park, compare accommodation using Maihama Station as your starting point. Staying in Shin-Urayasu adds a journey to the park entrance.
Check the route from your chosen hotel to the park. If using a shuttle, check its operating dates, stop and final departure before deciding to stay late at the park.

JR Narita and Keisei Narita stations
Consider this area for a temple visit and meal along Omotesando, a Sawara trip, or a stay before departing from Narita Airport.
Distinguish hotels near the stations from airport hotels. Whether an airport hotel shuttle serves Narita Station depends on the hotel.

Chiba Station and Chiba-Minato
This area suits meals in central Chiba and a Port Tower visit.
The tower is near Chiba-Minato Station. Choose accommodation with that journey in mind rather than assuming you can walk from Chiba Station each time.
Around Awa-Kamogawa Station
Choose this area for Sea World and an extra day in southern Chiba.
It suits a trip where you change accommodation, rather than daily return journeys to the Disney parks or Narita Airport.
Plan Tokyo return journeys and ticket coverage first
Use Maihama as your starting point from Tokyo
From Tokyo Station, choose a JR Keiyo or Musashino line service stopping at Maihama. Return on a service towards Tokyo. Walking between other JR and Keiyo Line platforms at Tokyo Station takes extra time beyond the train ride. If your hotel is elsewhere in Tokyo, add the journey to Tokyo Station.
Disneyland's entrance is about five minutes on foot from Maihama. For DisneySea, walk about two minutes to Resort Gateway Station, ride about nine minutes, then walk about one minute from Tokyo DisneySea Station to the entrance. Allow extra time for platforms, waits and admission queues. Check final trains and hotel shuttles before staying until closing. For consecutive park visits, compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu hotels.

Kamogawa day trips and overnight stays have different return plans
From Tokyo, take Wakashio limited express stopping at Awa-Kamogawa, then the free station shuttle to Sea World. Stairs along the connecting passage lead to the west exit shuttle stop. The roughly 10-minute shuttle ride excludes train and bus waits and reaching the station from your Tokyo hotel. Match show and visiting times with return shuttles and limited expresses before choosing a day trip.
Five-day B stays overnight in Kamogawa and visits Sea World the next day, splitting the coastal walk and aquarium across two days. Match your visit and return shuttle with the Tokyo-bound limited express and onward JR connections to Narita. You move to new accommodation in Narita rather than returning to a Tokyo hotel after a day trip.
Wakashio does not accept non-reserved-seat limited-express tickets. Reserve a seat when travelling at a fixed time, as this itinerary does. A seat-unassigned ticket allows use of a vacant seat, but you must move if its reservation holder arrives; it differs from a reserved seat.

Calculate JR pass, Resort Line and Keisei costs separately
JR TOKYO Wide Pass costs JPY 16,000 for adults and lasts three consecutive days from your selected start date. Published covered operators include JR East and Tokyo Monorail, but exclude Keisei, Disney Resort Line and Chiba Urban Monorail. An original passport issued outside Japan is required. Temporary Visitor status is not required for this product. Park admission and JR rail tickets are separate.
Two-day A's Keisei airport return subtotal for Narita city differs from a trip using Kamogawa limited expresses or multiple JR routes. Even on four- or five-day trips, the pass covers only three consecutive days. Add individual fares for the days and routes you will actually use before comparing. A subway tourist ticket alone cannot reach JR Maihama or Kamogawa. Hotel shuttles are not automatically included in a rail pass.

Transport, costs and meal planning
Plan arrival and departure days around your airport
On arrival, allow time for immigration, baggage collection and reaching your hotel before planning sightseeing. If arriving late, eat and rest. On departure day, work backwards from your airline's required airport arrival time, allowing trains, transfers and terminal travel. If storing luggage at your hotel, check storage and collection availability and add the hotel detour. For an early flight, leave without final-day sightseeing.
Plan arrival and departure days around your airport →Separate admission from Resort Line fares
These figures are for one adult. Three-day B starts at JPY 9,920: the lowest DisneySea ticket price JPY 8,900, Port Tower JPY 420 and two Resort Line rides JPY 600. Five-day A starts at JPY 18,400: the two parks' lowest 1-Day Passport prices total JPY 17,800, plus JPY 600 for the DisneySea day's Resort Line return journey. Actual date-based ticket prices may differ. Other itineraries exclude Resort Line costs, as well as JR, airports, hotel shuttles, extra rides, meals, accommodation and separate paid activities. These prices were checked on 8 October 2026.
Separate admission from Resort Line fares →Calligraphy museum admission depends on your date
Four-day A adds Port Tower JPY 420 and Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum JPY 500 to calligraphy museum admission. With the museum's JPY 500 price until 12 October 2026, the total is JPY 1,420; from 20 October, its JPY 800 price makes the total JPY 1,720. The official calendar marks 13–19 October 2026 as closed; omit the museum then. JR, monorail, airport and hotel travel, meals and accommodation are excluded.
Calligraphy museum admission depends on your date →Compare JR pass coverage
A Tokyo subway tourist ticket alone does not reach the parks or southern Chiba. JR, Keisei, Resort Line and limited-express tickets have different coverage. Compare routes using the Japan transport and JR pass guides. For one airport return journey, add individual fares first before comparing a regional pass price.
Compare JR pass coverage →Choose a meal along Narita Omotesando
Narita Omotesando has eel restaurants. If you want grilled eel with rice, allow time for a meal before or after the temple. Individual restaurant hours, prices and queues differ from temple operations. The Omotesando guide was checked on 8 October 2026.
Choose a meal along Narita Omotesando →Camera in front of Naritasan's Great Main Hall
The camera shows the space in front of the Great Main Hall, rather than queues at restaurants along all of Omotesando or trains at Narita Station. Check broadcast availability on the temple's official camera page. The camera guide was checked on 8 October 2026.
Camera in front of Naritasan's Great Main Hall →Places to group into separate days in Chiba
Chiba Prefecture · 千葉県
First choose a full park day, a temple approach and old-street walk, or an overnight southern coastal stay. These areas use different stations and travel directions. Rather than combining everything in one day, check attractions and itineraries for the areas that interest you.
Maihama · 舞浜: a day for each park
Disneyland and DisneySea share a resort but have different entrances and access. Disneyland is about five minutes on foot from Maihama; DisneySea uses the Resort Line before the entrance walk. For both, see five-day A with a day each. Choose arrival-day Disneyland in two-day B only if sightseeing time remains after travel.

A Maihama day without park entry: IKSPIARI
On arrival without a park visit, choose meals or shopping at IKSPIARI near Maihama Station. This differs from buying Disneyland or DisneySea admission. Shops, restaurants and cinemas have separate hours and costs; for a late arrival, check the businesses you actually want to use first.
Narita · 成田: temple approach and exhibitions
Walk Omotesando from Narita Station to Naritasan, with a meal along the way. Allow time before or after worship if visiting an eel restaurant. The calligraphy museum lies further inside the park, adding more walking than the temple alone. To include exhibitions, check opening dates and split visits across days as in four-day A.

Sawara · 佐原: memorial museum and riverside walk
Take JR from Narita to Sawara for Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum and an Onogawa walk. The museum is about 15 minutes on foot from Sawara Station; leave time afterwards for riverside walking and a meal. Return to Sawara Station for a train towards Narita. Compare three-day A, staying in Narita for a day trip, with five-day B, continuing to an overnight southern stay.

Chibaminato · 千葉みなと: harbour views
For Port Tower, travel towards Chiba-Minato rather than Chiba Station. From Chiba, take the urban monorail to Chiba-Minato, then walk about 12 minutes to the tower. Return towards the same station afterwards. Choose departure-day sightseeing in three-day B only if airport travel allows; for more harbour time, see day one of four-day A.

Kamogawa · 鴨川: coast and aquarium over two days
For an overnight seaside break and orca performances, compare the Kamogawa overnight itinerary. Walk the coast on arrival and visit the aquarium the next day. Maebara and Yokosuka Coast is about five minutes on foot from Awa-Kamogawa; Sea World is about 10 minutes by free shuttle from the west exit. Allow separate time for the coastal walk and west-exit shuttle journey.

Frequently asked questions
Can I stay in Tokyo for a Disney trip?
Yes, if your hotel has a workable journey to Maihama. Disney Resort is in Urayasu, Chiba, so consider travel and transfers after park closing. For consecutive park visits, compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu.
Should I take Skyliner from Narita Airport to Naritasan?
Choose a train stopping at Keisei Narita or JR Narita for Naritasan. Skyliner goes towards Nippori and Ueno and does not provide this direct journey to city accommodation or the temple. Select your terminal and arrival station to check date-specific fares and timetables.
