Which city should be your base in Chiba?
For a full day each at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, compare hotels in Maihama and Shin-Urayasu. For temple visits and Sawara's historic streets, consider staying near Narita Station. Choose Port Tower for harbor views in central Chiba, or compare a night in Kamogawa to give orca shows and coastal scenery two days.
Both Disney parks are in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. Even if you fly into Narita Airport, decide whether you want the parks, Narita city, central Chiba, or Kamogawa before choosing your hotel.
Parks, temple approaches, historic streets, or the southern coast?
Choose a day at Disneyland or DisneySea, or walks at Naritasan and Sawara first. Compare Port Tower for harbor views or Kamogawa for coast and aquarium together. These are different areas; check each attraction's admission, opening dates, and access before allocating sightseeing days.

Which station should you stay near?
Maihama and Shin-Urayasu
For a day at a Disney park, compare hotels using Maihama Station as your starting point. Staying in Shin-Urayasu requires additional travel to the park entrance.
Check the route from your specific hotel to the park. If it has a shuttle, confirm operating dates, boarding points, and the last service. Choose a late park visit only if you can return in time.

JR Narita and Keisei-Narita stations
Consider this area for a temple visit along Omotesando, a trip to Sawara, or a stay the night before a flight from Narita Airport.
Distinguish hotels near the station from hotels near the airport. Airport hotel shuttles do not all serve Narita Station.

Chiba Station and Chibaminato
This area suits meals in central Chiba and a visit to Port Tower.
Port Tower is on the Chibaminato side. Do not choose a Chiba Station hotel assuming you will walk to the tower each time.
Near Awa-Kamogawa Station
Choose this area to visit Sea World and spend another day in southern Chiba.
It suits an itinerary with a hotel change better than daily round trips to the Disney parks or Narita Airport.
Plan Tokyo round trips and transport passes first
Use Maihama as your destination for a park trip from Tokyo
From Tokyo Station, take a JR Keiyo or Musashino Line service that stops at Maihama. Return on a Tokyo-bound service from Maihama. Walking between other JR lines and the Keiyo Line platforms at Tokyo Station takes additional time beyond the train ride. If your hotel is elsewhere, add travel from the hotel to Tokyo Station too.
Disneyland's entrance is about a five-minute walk from Maihama. For DisneySea, allow about two minutes to Resort Gateway Station, about nine minutes on the Resort Line, then about one minute from Tokyo DisneySea Station to the entrance. Add platform access, waiting, and admission lines separately. Check return trains after park closing and the last hotel shuttle first. For consecutive days at both parks, compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu hotels too.

Kamogawa: different return plans for a day trip and an overnight stay
For Kamogawa Sea World from Tokyo, one route combines a Wakashio limited express stopping at Awa-Kamogawa with the station's free shuttle. Reach the west-exit shuttle stop via the connecting passage's stairs. The roughly 10-minute shuttle ride excludes train and bus waiting and travel to your Tokyo hotel. Choose a day trip only after matching viewing and show times with the return shuttle and limited express.
Five-day itinerary B spends a night in Kamogawa before Sea World the next day, keeping the coastal walk and aquarium on separate days. Match viewing and the return shuttle with the Tokyo-bound limited express and JR connection to Narita. This itinerary moves to a new hotel in Narita rather than returning to a Tokyo hotel after a day trip.
Wakashio does not accept an unreserved-seat limited express ticket. If your departure time is fixed, as in this itinerary, secure a reserved seat. A seat-unspecified ticket lets you use an empty seat, but you must move if its reserved-seat passenger arrives; it does not provide the same conditions as a reserved seat.

Calculate JR passes separately from the Resort Line and Keisei
JR TOKYO Wide Pass costs ¥16,000 for adults and is valid for three consecutive days starting on your selected date. Listed networks include JR East and Tokyo Monorail, but not Keisei, Disney Resort Line, or Chiba Urban Monorail. You need an original passport issued outside Japan. You can use it even if your Japanese residence status is not Temporary Visitor. Park admission and JR tickets are separate.
The Keisei airport round-trip subtotal for two-day Narita itinerary A is different from a trip with Kamogawa limited expresses or several JR journeys. Even on a four- or five-day trip, the pass lasts only three consecutive days, so add individual fares for the actual dates and routes before comparing. A subway sightseeing ticket alone does not cover JR travel to Maihama or Kamogawa. Hotel shuttles are not automatically included in a rail pass.

Transportation, costs, and dining
Plan arrival and departure days around your airport
On arrival day, add immigration, baggage claim, and travel to your hotel before choosing sightseeing. If you arrive late, eat and rest. For departure, work backward from the airport arrival time your airline specifies, allowing train, transfer, and terminal travel time. Add storage availability, bag pickup, and travel back to the hotel only if you leave luggage there. For an early flight, depart without sightseeing on the final day.

These subtotals are for one adult. Three-day itinerary B starts at ¥9,920: DisneySea's lowest one-day ticket price of ¥8,900, Port Tower ¥420, and two Resort Line rides totaling ¥600. Five-day itinerary A starts at ¥18,400: the lowest one-day prices for Disneyland and DisneySea totaling ¥17,800, plus ¥600 for the Resort Line on the DisneySea day. Actual ticket prices depend on the booking date. Other itineraries exclude Resort Line fares; JR, airport travel, hotel shuttles, additional rides, meals, hotels, and separately paid activities are also excluded. Four-day itinerary A adds Calligraphy Museum admission to Port Tower ¥420 and the Ino Tadataka Museum ¥500. Through October 12, 2026, with museum admission ¥500, the subtotal is ¥1,420. From October 20, when admission is ¥800, it is ¥1,720. The official calendar lists October 13–19, 2026 as closed; skip the museum during the closure. JR, monorail, airport and hotel travel, meals, and hotels are outside this subtotal.

A Tokyo subway sightseeing ticket alone cannot take you to the parks or southern Chiba. JR, Keisei, the Resort Line, and limited express services have different coverage. Maihama · 舞浜: a day for each park
Disneyland and DisneySea share a resort but have different entrances and routes. Walk about five minutes from Maihama to Disneyland; for DisneySea, take the Resort Line before reaching the entrance. For both parks, see five-day itinerary A, with a day for each. Choose the arrival-day park visit in two-day itinerary B only if enough viewing time remains after travel.

Ikspiari: a day in Maihama without the parks
On arrival day without a park visit, choose meals or shopping at Ikspiari near Maihama Station. This is separate from a day requiring a Disneyland or DisneySea ticket. Shops, restaurants, and the movie theater have their own hours and costs; on a late arrival, check the specific places you want to use first.
Narita · 成田: temple approach and exhibits
Walk Omotesando from Narita Station to Naritasan and enjoy a meal along the way. Leave time before or after worship for an eel restaurant. The Calligraphy Museum is farther into the park, so it involves more walking than a temple-only visit. For the exhibits too, check opening dates and spread visits across different days, as in four-day itinerary A.

Sawara · 佐原: museum and riverside walks
Take JR from Narita to Sawara and explore the Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum and Ono River area. The museum is about 15 minutes from Sawara Station on foot; leave time afterward for a riverside walk and meal. Return to Sawara Station for a Narita-bound train. Compare three-day itinerary A, a day trip while staying in Narita, with five-day itinerary B, continuing to a stay in the south.
Chibaminato · 千葉みなと: port views
For Port Tower, travel toward Chibaminato rather than Chiba Station. From Chiba, take Urban Monorail to Chibaminato, then walk about 12 minutes to the tower. Return toward the same station after the deck visit. Choose three-day itinerary B's departure-day visit only with enough airport travel time. Kamogawa · 鴨川: coast and aquarium over two days
For a night by the southern sea and orca performances, consider the Kamogawa overnight itinerary. Walk the coast on arrival day and visit the aquarium the next day. Maebara and Yokosuka Beach is about five minutes from Awa-Kamogawa Station on foot; Sea World is about 10 minutes by free shuttle from the west exit. Plan these journeys separately: walk to the coast and take the west-exit shuttle to the aquarium.

Can you stay in Tokyo for a Disney trip?
Yes, if your hotel offers a workable journey to Maihama. Tokyo Disney Resort is in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, so account for travel and transfers after park closing. For consecutive days at both parks, compare Maihama and Shin-Urayasu as well.
Do you take Skyliner from Narita Airport to Naritasan?
For Naritasan, choose a train that stops at Keisei-Narita or JR Narita. Skyliner heads toward Nippori and Ueno, so it is not a direct choice for a Narita city hotel or the temple. Select your terminal and arrival station to check fares and schedules for your date.
