Narita and Sawara's historic streets

Choose this option to stay several nights in Narita and devote a day to Sawara's surveying exhibits and historic streets. Temple visits, exhibits, and meals can fall on different days.

Day 1 · Naritasan and Omotesando

Combine a temple visit and an Omotesando walk near Narita Station. If you arrive late, enjoy the street and a meal, and move the indoor temple visit to the next day. In that case, shorten the Sawara visit or spend the day in Narita instead.

  1. Airport railway station at Narita → Keisei-Narita or JR Narita Station

Choose a train stopping at Narita's city station. Distinguish it from Skyliner services toward Nippori and Ueno. If you arrive at Terminal 3, go to Terminal 2's railway station first. Airport hotels and hotels near Narita Station are in different locations.

  2. Near JR Narita or Keisei-Narita Station → Naritasan Somon gate via Omotesando

Walk along Omotesando's shops to Somon gate. The approach from the station is about 800 meters; reaching the main hall requires additional travel beyond the gate.

  3. Naritasan Somon gate → Great Main Hall

Go up the grounds' stairs and slopes to the Great Main Hall. If you need to avoid stairs, check elevator locations on the official grounds map and their availability for your visit first.

  5. Great Main Hall → Somon gate and Omotesando

  6. Omotesando → Near Narita Station

Follow the same Omotesando route back toward the station. Browsing and meals require time beyond the walk.

The main hall and reception counters close at different times. To explore the park too, consider the extra walking and return time.

  1. JR Narita Station → JR Sawara Station
