Spend two nights in Narita for Sawara’s old streets and displays, or two in Maihama for a day at Tokyo DisneySea. On the Maihama route’s final day, include Port Tower only with enough time for the harbour return trip and airport procedures. Add hotel luggage collection time if storing bags there.

Choose consecutive Narita nights to give Sawara’s surveying displays and old streets a day. Split temple visits, exhibitions and meals across separate days.
Day 1 · Naritasan and Omotesando
Combine a temple visit with an Omotesando walk from the Narita station area. If arriving late, enjoy the streets and a meal, then move the indoor temple visit to the next day. In that case, shorten Sawara sightseeing or spend the day in Narita instead.
- Narita Airport railway station → Keisei Narita Station or JR Narita Station
Choose a train stopping at Narita town’s station, distinguishing it from Skyliner services for Nippori and Ueno. Arriving at Terminal 3 requires travel to the Terminal 2 railway station first. Airport hotels and Narita station-area hotels are in different locations.
- Around JR Narita and Keisei Narita stations → Naritasan Somon gate via Omotesando
Walk through Omotesando’s shopping street to the Somon gate. Omotesando extends about 800 metres from the station area; the main hall is a further walk beyond the gate.
- Naritasan Somon gate → Great Main Hall
Follow steps and slopes through the grounds to the Great Main Hall. If you need to avoid stairs, check lift locations on the official grounds map and their availability for your date first.

Retrace the grounds route down to Somon and return to Omotesando. For a meal, check hours and queues at your chosen restaurant, such as an eel specialist. Temple opening hours do not apply to restaurants.
- Omotesando → Around Narita Station
Follow the same Omotesando route back to the station area. Add time beyond the walk if you want to browse streets or eat.
The main hall and reception desks have different closing times. To add the park, consider the amount of walking and your return time.

Make a return day trip from Narita to Sawara. See the exhibition first, then eat and walk by the river before returning to Narita.
- JR Narita Station → JR Sawara Station

If time allows before departure, see festival floats at Narita Tourist Pavilion. Omit it and go to the airport if the pavilion is closed or transfer time is tight.
- Around JR Narita and Keisei Narita stations → Narita Tourist Pavilion
Walk about ten minutes along Omotesando to the tourist pavilion. Visit the float display, then return to the station. Allow separate time for the further walk to the temple’s main hall.

For Narita departure, choose an airport train such as Narita Express stopping at your terminal. For Haneda, take JR towards Hamamatsucho, then Tokyo Monorail stopping at your terminal. Add travel within stations and terminals to meet your airline’s check-in guidance.
Port Tower opens 09:00–21:00 from June to September. From October to May, it opens 09:00–19:00 on weekdays and 09:00–20:00 on weekends and public holidays. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Regular closures are generally the fourth Monday of even-numbered months and 28–31 December; check your date against the official annual closure calendar. Omit the observation deck on regular or temporary closure days, including strong winds. If the airport connection is tight, omit Port Tower and leave directly from Maihama for the airport.
