Which Miyazaki shrines, towns and gorge should I visit?
Visit Aoshima to cross a bridge over the sea to an island shrine, or Udo to worship in a cave sanctuary. Walk old town lanes in Obi and see cedar-built shrine architecture at Miyazaki Shrine. For Takachiho’s rock walls and waterfall, consider staying in the north with separate walking and boating days. When driving, check the walk from the car park you will actually use to each attraction.

Frequently asked questions
Does a boat booking secure a nearby parking space?
There is no dedicated boat car park or parking reservation. Even though boat reception is in car park 1, a boat booking does not guarantee parking there. Allow time before your reservation to walk from the car park assigned by attendants to reception and then to the boarding area. Check car-park opening and boat operation separately.
