Two nights: stay in the city or by the coast?

Stay near Miyazaki Station for two nights to give the shrine, Aoshima and museum a day each. For a seaside stay with drives to Udo and Obi, compare two nights in Aoshima. The city itinerary uses JR and walking; the coastal itinerary stops at Horikiri Pass for views on the final day before returning the car. Check museum closures and Udo access restrictions when choosing your dates.
