What to see at Horikiri Pass
Views on the journey along the southern coast
Take a short break with views of the Nichinan coast. If travelling along the coast, stop at the viewing area to enjoy the sea before continuing.
How to get to Horikiri Pass
Take a Nichinan-bound bus from Miyako City and get off at Horikiri-Toge. Official tourism guidance lists about 35 minutes on the bus. Check bus times and fares separately when starting from an Aoshima hotel.
Before you visit
Daytime access and return buses
If the weather is poor or roads are restricted, skip the pass and continue to your hotel or car-return branch. Plan to visit an open area in daylight rather than assume night access. If taking a bus, check your return service in advance too.
