Shizuoka Airport to Shizuoka, Shimada and Kakegawa
For Shizuoka Station, take the direct bus from airport stop 3. For Shimada Station, use stop 2. Kakegawa can be reached by a paid shuttle taxi or by changing to JR at Kanaya Station. There is no airport railway station, and FDA’s former free bus service has ended.

Shizuoka Station · 静岡駅, Shimada Station · 島田駅, Kakegawa Station · 掛川駅 are located in different cities. Just because the airport name has “Shizuoka” in it, doesn’t mean that all hotels are located near Shizuoka Station.
Check the address of the accommodation you booked and the nearest station, then select your destination.
Regular buses and paid shuttle taxis differ from the former airline-restricted FDA free shuttle, which has ended. Kakegawa shuttle taxi must meet reception and reservation conditions for each direction.
The times below are times on board. International immigration, baggage pickup, transfer to the boarding area, waiting for the next departure, JR transfer, and walking to the accommodation must be added separately. Bus and shuttle taxi times are estimates from the official current timetable and vary depending on traffic conditions.

In the airport introduction, the time to Shizuoka Station is described as “approximately 50 minutes,” but the current operator’s timetable is 57 minutes to the station and 60 minutes to Shin-Shizuoka. Use the timetable's estimated arrival time to plan your transfers. JR fares and Shinkansen fares via Kanaya are not included in the above bus fares. Arrivals → boarding stop → station → hotel
- After arrival procedures and baggage collection, enter 1F arrivals and prepare your hotel’s Japanese address/booking.
- Bus: Check your destination at the stop outside the terminal. No. 1 is for Fujieda Station, No. 2 is for Shimada Station and Kanaya Station, and No. 3 is for Shizuoka Station and Shin-Shizuoka. Both Shimada and Kanaya use stop 2; check the vehicle display 島田駅 / 金谷駅 before boarding.
- Kakegawa shuttle taxi: Instead of lining up at the bus stop right away, register on the same day at the general information centre on the 1st floor. Please check dispatch and actual meeting location at the information centre. The shuttle taxi's fixed boarding bay number was not confirmed and was not used.
- Check the payment method for the route and board. After getting off the bus, collect your luggage and go to the exit near your accommodation, or prepare a separate JR ticket.

Transport IC cards and credit cards differ depending on the route.
For trips to Shizuoka and Shimada, cash and eligible IC transport IC cards are accepted. Credit card touch payment was introduced on the Shizuoka Airport Line from March 23, 2026. When using the bus, swipe the same card/device to the green terminal when boarding and the yellow terminal when getting off.
This guidance should not be applied to both Shimada and Fujieda.
For Kanaya-bound buses, the official airport information informs you of payment by cash, IC, QR, or credit card, and the Kakegawa shuttle taxi accepts cash or PayPay. Please check the vehicle/operator information on the day for the card brand and terminals that can be used. Fujieda’s full cashless payment range is not confirmed; carry cash as backup. Shizuoka Station/Shin-Shizuoka direction: Platform 3
Shin-Shizuoka Station · 新静岡駅
- Go out of the arrival hall and go to platform 3.
- 静岡駅・新静岡 Check the destination and get on the bus. Boarding is on a first-come, first-served basis without seat reservations, and you cannot board if all seats are full. Wear your seat belt on highway sections.
- For JR/Shinkansen or station hotels, alight north of Shizuoka Station. For Shin-Shizuoka hotels, remain on the bus to its terminus.
- For hotels in the north, check the address in front of the station and walk, and for hotels in the south, check the route leading to the opposite exit on the station map. Avoid going through the Shinkansen ticket gate and finding the exit toward your accommodation.
Adult one-way fare: 1,200 yen, 57 minutes to Shizuoka Station and 60 minutes to Shin-Shizuoka. For the airport-bound return, check Shizuoka north stop 14 or Shin-Shizuoka stop 6. The last bus to the airport currently departs Shizuoka Station at 15:15, but will change to 15:55 from October 25.
Keep city-bound and airport-bound last buses separate.
Shizuoka Station is served by the Tokaido Main Line and the Tokaido Shinkansen. In JR Central’s basic Shinkansen timetable, the Kodama and some Hikari stops at Shizuoka Station, but the Nozomi does not. Check the train type, stopping station, fare, and reserved seats based on the date of visit, and avoid taking a train that is immediately following the bus's scheduled arrival time. You can't ride the Shinkansen with the bus fare. JR Shizuoka Station timetable and site map ↗ · Official airport information to Shizuoka ↗

Toward Shimada Station: Bus service ends early
- At airport stop 2, choose a vehicle displaying 島田駅南口, separately from Kanaya services.
- Current direct buses depart the airport at 10:40 and 13:00. Adults 600 yen, arrives south of Shimada Station in 25 minutes.
- For accommodation on the south side of the station, check the address after getting off, and for accommodation on the north side, use the station map and on-site information to find the opposite exit. Check the walking route from the exit to your accommodation using the actual address you booked.
From 25 October, these airport departures change to 10:20·12:00. If the regular bus doesn't work for you, compare taking a bus to Kanaya Station and transferring to the JR Tokaido Main Line. Shimada Station is not a Shinkansen station. If you need the Shinkansen, you must travel separately to a stopping station such as Shizuoka Station or Kakegawa Station.
The airport’s 15:20 Kanaya service uses a nine-seat jumbo taxi vehicle, rather than a regular large bus, and continues via Kanaya to Shimada south. Airport → Shimada Station South, arrives at 15:53, costs 870 yen. Do not mix it with the regular direct ticket (600 yen, 25 minutes), and check with the operator about large luggage and the number of passengers allowed.
Airport-bound regular buses board at Shimada south stop 4. Currently, departure times to the airport are 11:30·16:00, and from October 25th, 11:10·15:00. Kakegawa Station: Paid shuttle taxi or transfer to Kanaya Station
The FDA free shuttle bus is currently not in operation. It completed operation on October 25, 2025. Don't just use the free bus schedule or 1,500 yen shuttle taxi fare from an old travel article. Currently, the shuttle taxi costs 1,700 yen per person one way. Airport traffic information for 2026 ↗
If you have a lot of luggage, compare shuttle taxis without transfers first.
- Apply on the day at the 1F general information centre for Kakegawa. Declare passengers/bags and confirm the departure, dispatch and meeting point.
- Currently, airport departures are 09:50, 11:50, 13:00, 13:55, 15:55, 16:55, 17:55, 20:45, and on-board journey time is 35 minutes.
- Alight at Kakegawa Station south, then walk to your hotel or enter JR. When going to the north accommodation or downtown, first check the exit route on the station map.
Free for children under 3 years old, pay with cash or PayPay. This is a shared ride with other passengers. This product does not guarantee exclusive use of individual vehicles or unlimited luggage loading.
When returning, a reservation is required two days in advance.
For Kakegawa→airport, reserve by two days before travel: phone 0537-22-3610 10:00–16:00, or online by 24:00 two days before. It does not operate without a reservation, and you cannot get on or off it at points other than the airport or Kakegawa Station.
Please arrive at the shuttle taxi stand on the south side of the station at least 5 minutes before your reservation time.
In case of cancellation or late reservation, contact the operator. Please contact 0537-22-3231. Please note that cancellations are not accepted via email. If a delayed flight may make you miss your booked transfer, ask the operator about change and cancellation fees when booking. How to transfer from Kanaya Station to JR
Kanaya Station · 金谷駅
- From airport stop 2, take the Kanaya-bound bus. It costs 500 yen for adults and 15 minutes to Kanaya Station.
- At Kanaya, choose the JR Tokaido Main Line towards Kakegawa/Hamamatsu. The Oigawa Railway at the same station is different from the JR line that goes to Kakegawa.
- Check the JR ticket and fare separately and proceed to Kakegawa Station. In JR Central’s basic Shinkansen timetable, Kakegawa Station is the Kodama stop and is not a station directly connected to Hikari or Nozomi. If you continue by Shinkansen, transfer again at Kakegawa Station.
- At Kakegawa Station, select the north or south exit where your accommodation is located and check the walking route after getting off.
Waiting for JR transfer, time required for the relevant train, and adult fare must be confirmed through the official inquiry on the date of visit. The 15-minute airport bus ride reaches Kanaya, not Kakegawa; add JR waiting and travel time. To use the Shinkansen, you need a ticket for the corresponding section and a limited express fare. If you are staying in Fujieda, stop no. 1
Fujieda Station · 藤枝駅
From Airport Platform 1, take the bus bound for 藤枝駅南口 and get off at the south side of the station. Adult one-way fee: 500 yen, usually 40 minutes. The weekday airport departure at 17:30 takes fifty minutes. The same 17:30 bus is also 40 minutes long on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, so check the estimated arrival time by day of the week. When returning home, take platform number 6 on the south side of the station. After arriving at the station, check the walking route to your accommodation using the actual address. The Shizutetsu winter timetable applies from October 25th, and the Fujieda City guide's winter period runs until March 27, 2027. Winter timetables for the Kanaya bus and Kakegawa shuttle taxi were not confirmed in the reviewed sources. Please check the operator's new timetable on these dates. Current timetable ↗ · Timetable from October 25th ↗
Just because the landing time is earlier than the last bus does not mean you can board immediately. Immigration, baggage, transfer to the arrival area, and reception must be completed. Some bus departures may be adjusted depending on flight delays, but we do not guarantee unlimited waiting.
After arriving at Kanaya Station, the final connection is JR, and Shinkansen after arriving at Kakegawa/Shizuoka Station. Check the train timetable separately. The last bus and the final train connection are separate services.
At the time of confirmation, a maintenance notice was displayed on the timetable page for each JR Shizuoka/Kakegawa station, so the last connecting train could not be confirmed. The basic Shinkansen timetable does not cover all temporary trains and is therefore not a substitute for a full train inquiry for the day of travel.
If services have finished, ask about alternatives by informing the general taxi stand or reservation company of the destination, number of people, and number of luggage. It is a good idea to communicate your expected arrival time to your accommodation, and if you arrive late alone, decide on a means of transportation from the station to the last section of your accommodation instead of a long walk. Check airport bus/railway operation status and airplane status separately. Airport official transportation access and operation information ↗ · Response to flight delays and cancellations →
For taxis, distinguish between meter fare and reservation flat rate.
For an ordinary taxi, cross the first pedestrian crossing outside the terminal and use the official rank in the shared taxi/private-vehicle lane on the right. Show the accommodation's Japanese address and confirm the number of people, luggage, payment method and estimated total amount. Reserved vehicles will follow the meeting location indicated on the reservation form.
The reference price for regular taxis disclosed by the airport is Kanaya Station 3,300 yen, Shimada Station 4,200 yen, Fujieda Station 6,400 yen, Kakegawa Station 8,100 yen. This is a reference price per vehicle and not a fixed price.
Actual meter fare will vary depending on driving conditions. The Taxi Association announces a 20% surcharge on the regular meter fare between 22:00 and 05:00 late at night and early in the morning, so check the company's conditions before departure.
Pre-booked flat-rate taxis in target areas such as around Shizuoka Station are based on official airport information. 11,500 yen + separate highway toll. This is information revised on November 25, 2025, and you must check the target area, excluded area, and companies that can make reservations. We do not apply this flat rate to all hotels in Shizuoka Prefecture or arbitrarily add a general late-night surcharge to create a fixed total. Official transportation usage and reservation information
The links below provide official operator ticket and booking information. For regular buses bound for Shizuoka, Shimada, and Kanaya, check the payment method before boarding, and for Kakegawa shuttle taxis, check the reception/reservation conditions for each direction of travel.
Regular bus and JR tickets are separate. Rail passes do not automatically include buses and shuttle taxis, so check the eligible sections. If you miss your booked transportation due to a flight delay, you must check with the relevant operating company for changes, cancellations, and contact conditions.
Shizuoka Airport transfer, frequently asked questions
Is Shizuoka Airport close to every Mount Fuji attraction?
No. The airport is in Makinohara. This guide covers Shizuoka, Shimada and Kakegawa stations/hotels. For Mount Fuji, choose a specific destination such as Kawaguchiko, Fujinomiya or a trailhead and check its route and operating dates separately.
How do I get from Shizuoka Airport to Shizuoka Station?
Take a Shizuoka/Shin-Shizuoka-bound bus at airport stop 3. Adult fare is JPY 1,200; the current table gives 57 minutes to Shizuoka north. Add arrival formalities, baggage, waiting and the hotel walk.
Is there an airport railway or Shinkansen station?
No. Take a bus/taxi to a station. Shizuoka and Kakegawa have Tokaido Shinkansen services; Shimada and Kanaya are conventional Tokaido Main Line stations. There is no direct Shinkansen from Shimada.
Are Shimada buses frequent?
Only two current direct departures: 10:40 and 13:00, changing to 10:20 and 12:00 from 25 October. Use airport stop 2; JPY 600, about 25 minutes. If unsuitable, compare Kanaya bus plus JR.
Can I use the free FDA bus to Kakegawa?
It ended on 25 October 2025. Compare the paid shuttle taxi or JR via Kanaya. The shuttle costs JPY 1,700 per person one way. Apply on arrival day at the airport’s 1F general information centre.
Can I take the Kakegawa return shuttle without booking?
No. For station→airport, reserve by two days before travel: phone until 16:00 or online until 24:00. It does not operate without a booking. Reach the station’s southern shuttle rank at least five minutes before the booked time.
Can I use IC or a bank card?
Shizuoka/Shimada guidance lists cash and accepted transport IC. Bank-card tapping is listed for the Shizuoka Airport Line, not automatically every route. Kanaya guidance lists cash, IC, QR and bank cards. The paid Kakegawa shuttle accepts cash or PayPay; check actual vehicle/operator support.
What are the last airport departures?
Until 24 October: Shizuoka 20:40, direct Shimada 13:00, Fujieda 19:00, Kanaya 20:35 and Kakegawa shuttle 20:45. From 25 October: Shizuoka 21:10, Shimada 12:00 and Fujieda 19:05. Winter Kanaya/shuttle times need separate confirmation. Landing before departure does not guarantee completing arrival procedures in time.
What if I have large bags or a delayed flight?
Confirm bus capacity or shuttle dispatch. The 15:20 Kanaya service uses a nine-seat vehicle, with different space from a regular bus. If services finish, contact the official taxi/booked operator with your destination, passengers/bags and tell your hotel the revised time. Flight delays do not guarantee transport refunds or unlimited waiting.
