Komatsu Airport to Kanazawa and Komatsu
For Kanazawa Station hotels, take the ¥1,400 limousine and get off west of the station. Korinbo and Katamachi need either a selected evening extension or a city bus/taxi from Kanazawa. For Komatsu Station hotels, take the ¥310 bus from airport bay 3, not the Kanazawa bay.

Distinguish between direct travel to Kanazawa and transfer to Komatsu Station.
Travel northeast from the airport to Kanazawa Station. Komatsu Station, located near the airport, is a different station from Kanazawa Station. There is no rail station in the airport terminal. To use the train, you must first take a bus to Komatsu Station.

This is a conceptual diagram of the movement route on the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) background map. The pink one is a direct route to Kanazawa and the Korinbo extension, and the blue one is a bus and rail transfer at Komatsu Station. Dotted lines and arrows show the direction of travel and are not actual road or rail routes.
Compare fare, ride time, and luggage together
The time in the table is the vehicle ride time. You must add the time required for immigration, baggage collection, waiting for the bus, transferring to the station, and walking to your accommodation. Transferring to regular trains is cheap, but it cannot be guaranteed that the bus and train will connect directly.

From arrivals to the correct airport bus
- Finish arrivals and baggage claim in the first-floor lobby. Before leaving, choose your destination at the ticket machine.
- For Kanazawa Station West Exit “金沢駅西口” or Korinbo “香林坊,” use bay 1. Bay 2 may serve additional vehicles as directed by staff. For Komatsu Station “小松駅,” use bay 3.
- The Komatsu Airport Limousine Bus · 小松空港リムジンバス is operated by Hokuriku Railroad · 北陸鉄道, without seat reservations. Hokutetsu Kaga Bus · 北鉄加賀バス runs the Komatsu Station route. For that route, prepare cash or ICa and confirm any other supported card on the actual reader.
- Put a purchased ticket in the fare box when leaving. The Kanazawa limousine lists cash, local ICa, supported contactless bank cards and official digital tickets. Only ¥1,000 bills can be changed on board. Do not assume nationwide Suica/ICOCA is accepted on the airport limousine.
- Confirm space, then load and unload your bags yourself. Carry valuables and fragile items with you. The Komatsu Station bus may have different baggage space; check its machine and onboard payment instructions.
Standing is not allowed on the limousine. If full, staff may offer an auxiliary seat or direct you to a later bus. Oversized bags can be refused for lack of space.

Kanazawa hotels: arrive west, then choose your exit
The west exit is Kanazawa Port Gate · 金沢港口(西口). After the roughly 40-minute airport ride, get off at the airport-bus arrival area and retrieve your bags. Return airport-bus bay 3 is a different point in the roundabout.
For a west-side hotel, follow the outside pedestrian route to its address. For an east-side hotel or sightseeing bus, enter the station and use the first-floor public passage toward Kenrokuen Gate · 兼六園口(東口). You do not pass through railway gates just to change sides. For a train, follow the separate IR or Shinkansen gate signs.
The sequence is west drop-off → west station entrance → public passage → east exit → loop-bus bay 7. Confirm the hotel’s side before walking with luggage.
West arrival area → east bay 7

Korinbo and Katamachi: check whether the airport bus continues
Korinbo · 香林坊 and Katamachi · 片町 are southeast of Kanazawa Station. Not all airport buses continue here. The October 1–24, 2026 table lists Korinbo extensions for arrivals ANA 759, scheduled 21:35, and JAL 193, scheduled 21:45. Daytime arrivals normally require a city connection from the station.
If your airport bus continues to Korinbo
Stay aboard after Kanazawa Station. The arrival diagram marks the drop-off near Ishikawa Fourth High School Memorial Museum · 石川四高記念文化交流館. Return airport buses use Korinbo bay 6 near Toyoko Inn “東横イン前,” not the same arrival point. Follow the actual stop signs and your hotel address for the final walk.
For a daytime city-bus connection
West drop-off → station public passage → east bay 7 → Kanazawa Loop Bus · 城下まち金沢周遊バス, left-loop direction “LL / 左回り.” Korinbo, in front of Atrio “アトリオ前,” is about ten minutes; Katamachi, in front of Pasion “パシオン前,” about 12. The adult fare is an additional ¥220.
The loop bus supports nationwide Suica/ICOCA in addition to cash, ICa, supported contactless cards and digital tickets. Its payment coverage differs from the airport limousine. With many bags, compare a station taxi to your actual hotel entrance.

Komatsu Station hotels or a rail connection to Kanazawa
- First-floor arrivals → prepare ¥310 payment or ticket → airport bay 3.
- Take the Komatsu Station bus: about 12 minutes. Autonomous-bus departures take about 15 minutes and run at fixed times. This is not the direct Kanazawa bus.
- Get off west of Komatsu Station and walk to your hotel. For rail, enter from the west and use the first-floor IR machines and gates, separate from Shinkansen.
- Buy a ¥580 IR ticket to Kanazawa and choose a local train in that direction. Use the departure board and station map for the platform and elevator.
- After about 33–35 minutes, leave the Kanazawa gates and choose your hotel exit or east loop-bus bay 7.
IR Ishikawa Railway · IRいしかわ鉄道 operates the IR Ishikawa Railway Line · IRいしかわ鉄道線. Do not apply old JR Hokuriku Main Line or rail-pass descriptions without checking current coverage. Bus ¥310 + local train ¥580 totals ¥890, with one transfer; local trains have no separate limited-express fee or seat reservation.
Shinkansen: faster on board, higher fare
The Hokuriku Shinkansen · 北陸新幹線 takes about 11–12 minutes from Komatsu to Kanazawa. Choose a Tsurugi or Hakutaka service that actually stops at Komatsu and check its seat type. Kagayaki is fully reserved, and not every train stops at Komatsu.
The nonreserved fare is ¥1,390, comprising ¥510 base fare and ¥880 surcharge; with the airport bus, ¥1,700. A reserved seat on Tsurugi 16 for October 5, 2026 was ¥2,710 (¥510 + ¥2,200), totaling ¥3,020 with the bus. Reserved fares vary by date. Online reservations generally open at 10:00 JST on the corresponding date one month before travel.
Local trains and Shinkansen have different gates and tickets. A rail pass needs a separate check of current IR coverage, JR trains and reserved seats; airport buses are not automatically included.

Kenrokuen, the castle and Higashi Chaya: start at east bay 7
From the airport bus’s west arrival area, cross the station’s first-floor public passage to east Kenrokuen Gate bay 7. Consider leaving bags at your hotel before sightseeing. Bus rides and walks to entrances are separate.
Kenrokuen and Kanazawa Castle
Take the right-loop “RL / 右回り” bus to Kenrokuenshita / Kanazawa Castle · 兼六園下・金沢城(石川門向い), about 18 minutes, ¥220. Both attractions are a walk from this stop.
For Kenrokuen Garden · 兼六園, walk to Renchimon Gate and its ticket booth · 蓮池門口・蓮池門料金所, rather than a pin in the garden center. For Kanazawa Castle Park · 金沢城公園, approach Ishikawa Gate · 石川門. Attraction admission and opening hours are separate from transport.

Higashi Chaya District
Take the same right-loop bus from east bay 7 to Hashibacho · 橋場町(ひがし・主計町茶屋街), about 12 minutes, ¥220. Do not confuse it with the later Hashibacho stop in front of Kinjoro “金城樓前.”
Walk toward Higashi Chaya Rest House · ひがし茶屋休憩館 at 観音町1-3-8, near the entrance to Higashi Chaya District · ひがし茶屋街. It provides orientation before you enter the smaller streets. Use the linked starting point rather than searching only the shared bus-stop name.

Large bags: allow for the transfer and final walk
The Kanazawa limousine has underfloor storage, but space is limited. Komatsu Station and city buses do not guarantee the same storage. IR permits two carry-on items, each within 250 cm combined dimensions, 30 kg and 2 m length. Allow time to move bags through station gates and elevators.
For Shinkansen, use JR’s baggage rules. Do not automatically apply Tokaido/Sanyo/Kyushu oversized-baggage-seat rules to the Hokuriku Shinkansen. Check the actual train and seat’s storage.

Last services, delays and winter connections
Last airport departures
The October 1–24, 2026 tables are flight-linked schedules, not a single fixed departure for every weekday. Both Kanazawa and Komatsu Station end with the bus linked to JAL 193’s scheduled 21:45 arrival. Domestic-flight buses leave about 15 minutes after arrival, so around 22:00 is only a reference, not a guaranteed fixed last departure.
The Kanazawa table directs some international arrivals to buses linked to other flights. Do not assume a dedicated bus for the Incheon KE 2189 arrival. Finish immigration and baggage claim, then confirm the usable domestic-linked departure. Flight cancellations, major delays or full buses can prevent boarding; unlimited waiting was not confirmed.
The Komatsu table says major delays may require the next bus. Autonomous departures are fixed at 09:05, 10:05, 11:20, 14:05 and 16:05 rather than waiting for aircraft, and may use a substitute vehicle.
Last trains from Komatsu to Kanazawa
The current IR table ends with 23:23–23:56; the listed upbound Shinkansen ends with 23:14–23:25. Taking the last airport bus does not guarantee either connection. Add bus delay, ticketing and gate movement, and check same-day rail notices.
From Kanazawa Station to your hotel
The loop bus’s final east-bay-7 departures are right-loop 18:00 and left-loop 17:58 under the April 1, 2026 revision. These are the loop bus’s last services, not every city bus. Use the dated local-bus search from 金沢駅東口 to 香林坊 or 片町. For late arrivals, compare the actual Korinbo extension, a station taxi or a practical hotel walk.
If the bus has ended or snow changes your plans
Use the terminal’s official taxi stand, distinct from reserved-vehicle pickup, or contact your confirmed provider. The airport’s October 2024 taxi examples are Komatsu Station about ten minutes/¥2,200 and Kanazawa about 60 minutes/¥14,400, with expressway tolls extra. They are not confirmed 2026 quotes. Ask about current fares, night surcharge, tolls and waiting.
For a booking, confirm flight-delay contact, meeting point, passengers, bags and cancellation terms. Rental companies shuttle passengers from the first-floor counter to an office; confirm the latest vehicle pickup, not just counter hours. Late taxis and booked alternatives are not guaranteed. Tell your hotel your expected check-in.
Check airport flight notices, Hokuriku buses, IR and JR Hokuriku Shinkansen separately. Snow, wind or rain alone does not prove a cancellation. Allow extra time for icy walks between stops, exits and entrances, and compare an available taxi with a long luggage walk.

How do I get to Kanazawa Station?
From airport first-floor arrivals, use bay 1 for the Hokuriku Railroad limousine toward Kanazawa Station West Exit. The adult fare is ¥1,400 and the ride about 40 minutes. Arrivals procedures, baggage claim and waiting are extra.
Which exit does the airport bus use?
It arrives on the west side, Kanazawa Port Gate. The arrival area is separate from return airport-bus bay 3. For east-side hotels or loop buses, use the first-floor public station passage to Kenrokuen Gate. Do not enter railway gates just to cross the station.
Can I go directly to Korinbo or Katamachi?
Only selected buses continue to Korinbo. The October 1–24, 2026 table lists links to ANA 759 and JAL 193. The arrival point near Ishikawa Fourth High School Memorial Museum differs from return bay 6. Continue to the actual hotel on foot or by taxi. During the day, use the left-loop bus from Kanazawa east bay 7.
Do airport buses need reservations?
The Kanazawa limousine is unreserved. Buy an airport machine ticket and put it in the fare box when leaving, or use a supported payment method. Full buses can refuse boarding or direct you to a later service. Komatsu Station buses are also on-site services, separate from reserved vehicles.
Can I travel via Komatsu Station?
Yes. Airport bay 3 → Komatsu Station bus, ¥310 and about 12 minutes → IR local train to Kanazawa, ¥580 and about 33–35 minutes. Total ¥890, one transfer. Add waiting and movement through station gates. There is no airport railway station.
How do local trains compare with Shinkansen?
IR local trains cost ¥580 and take about 33–35 minutes, without a limited-express fee or seat reservation. Hokuriku Shinkansen takes about 11–12 minutes; nonreserved fare is ¥1,390. Add the ¥310 airport bus. A reserved Tsurugi 16 seat checked for October 5, 2026 was ¥2,710, but reserved fares vary by date. Confirm that your train stops at Komatsu.
Can I take a large suitcase?
The limousine has limited underfloor storage; load and unload your bags yourself, and oversized items may be refused. Other buses do not guarantee the same storage. IR allows two items, each within 250 cm combined dimensions, 30 kg and 2 m length. Check JR’s separate Shinkansen rules.
How do I reach Kenrokuen and Kanazawa Castle?
From east Kenrokuen Gate bay 7, take the right-loop RL bus to Kenrokuenshita / Kanazawa Castle, about 18 minutes, ¥220. Walk to Kenrokuen’s Renchimon entrance/ticket booth or the castle’s Ishikawa Gate. Garden-center pins are not entrances. Admission is separate.
Which stop serves Higashi Chaya District?
Take the right-loop RL bus from east bay 7 to Hashibacho (Higashi/Kazuemachi Chaya districts), about 12 minutes, ¥220. This differs from the later same-name stop in front of Kinjoro. Walk to Higashi Chaya Rest House at 観音町1-3-8 near the district entrance.
What if I miss the last bus?
For October 1–24, 2026, both routes end with the bus linked to JAL 193’s scheduled 21:45 arrival. About 22:00 is a reference based on roughly 15 minutes after domestic arrival, not a guaranteed fixed departure. Major delays or cancellations may prevent boarding. Check Komatsu’s last IR at 23:23 and Shinkansen at 23:14 separately. If services have ended, confirm an official taxi or booked provider rather than assuming a vehicle is available.
Where do I check winter disruptions?
Check Komatsu Airport, Hokuriku bus notices, IR Ishikawa Railway and JR Hokuriku Shinkansen separately. Snow, wind or rain alone does not prove suspension. Allow time for icy final walks and luggage, and confirm taxi dispatch if needed.
